The National Advertising Division has recommended that Dyson, Inc., modify or discontinue certain advertising claims for the company’s DC65 corded upright vacuum cleaner and its DC59, a cordless stick vacuum. -
4/06/2020 - NAD Reviews Cox “Powerboost” Claims Following Challenge By Qwest
The National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus has determined that Cox Communications provided reasonable support for certain advertising claims made for the company’s high-speed Internet service, but recommended that Cox clearly and conspicuously disclose in future advertising a limitation of PowerBoost – i.e., that PowerBoost provides a burst of speed available for the first 18 to 22 megabytes of a file download. -

The National Advertising Division has determined that “compare to” claims made by Bausch & Lomb, Inc., and Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., on packaging for “Equate” contact lens products are not comparative performance claims requiring substantiation. -

The National Advertising Division had determined that Nest Labs, Inc., can support the claims made in a print ad that ran in the New York Times. -

The National Advertising Division has determined that Campbell Soup Company can support advertising claims for original V8 Vegetable Juice, challenged before NAD by Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc. -
4/06/2020 - NAD Reviews Claims for Bevel Single-Blade Razors; Finds Advertiser Can Support Certain Modified Claims, but Recommends It Discontinue ‘Proven’ Claim
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Walker & Company Brands, maker of the Bevel Shaving System, modify or discontinue certain advertising claims for the company’s single-blade razors. NAD determined, however, that the company could support certain modified claims, including the claim that its product, with regular use, may “help” improve pseudofolliculitis barbae (PFB), an uncomfortable, and potentially serious side-effect of shaving often experienced by people of color. -

The National Advertising Division has determined that Procter & Gamble has taken necessary steps to modify and/or discontinue a “50% longer” advertising claim made on product packaging for the company’s Duracell Rechargeable Batteries. -

The National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus has recommended that Bissell Homecare, Inc., discontinue an “outclean” comparative advertising claim challenged by Rug Doctor, Inc., or modify the claim to better explain the science behind the claim.

The National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus has recommended that Vital Pharmaceuticals, which markets the energy drink “Redline Princess,” modify or discontinue certain advertising claims for the product. -
4/06/2020 - NAD Reviews Advertising for Sherwin-Williams ‘CoverMaxx,’ Finds Claims Don’t Require Substantiation
The National Advertising Division has determined that challenged advertising for Sherwin-Williams Company “CoverMaxx” spray paints did not communicate a message of superior paint coverage requiring substantiation. Further, NAD found that the product name did not require revision. -
4/06/2020 - Nad Reviews Advertising For RENAISSANCE HEALTH’S ‘REVATROL’
The National Advertising Division (NAD) of the Council of Better Business Bureaus has recommended that Renaissance Health Publishing modify the format for print and Website advertising for the dietary supplement Revatrol, a “red wine” extract. NAD has recommended also that the company discontinue certain claims for the product. -
4/06/2020 - NAD Reviews Advertising For Kinoko AHCC Products
The National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus found that Quality of Life Labs, the maker of Kinoko AHCC and Kinoko AHCC Gold, could support the claim that its products “help support normal immune function.” NAD recommended, however, that the advertise modify or discontinue certain advertising claims for the products. -

The National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus has recommended Good Living Labs, LCC, discontinue certain print and broadcast advertising claims at issue for the company’s “Good Days Positive Mood” formula dietary supplement. -

The National Advertising Division has referred to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Federal Trade Commission (FTC) advertising claims made by Hisamitsu America, Inc., manufacturer of Salonpas Brand Pain Relief products. -
4/03/2020 - NAD Refers Advertising Claims for Pharmavite’s NatureMade Omega-3 Xtra Blend Dietary Supplement After Advertiser Declines to Comply with Recommendation
The National Advertising Division has referred an absorption claim made by Pharmavite, LLC for its NatureMade Omega-3 Xtra Blend Dietary Supplement to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for further review, after the advertiser said it would not comply with NAD recommendations. -

The National Advertising Division has referred advertising for “eHeat,” a wall-mounted convection heater, to the Federal Trade Commission for further review, after the company failed to respond to an inquiry from the NAD. -
4/03/2020 - NAD Refers Advertising Claims by LG Electronics to FTC for Further Review; NAD Declines to Reopen LG Case Under New Evidence Rules
The National Advertising Division has referred advertising claims made by LG Electronics USA, Inc., to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for further review, following LG’s decision against complying with NAD recommendations regarding claims to “perfect black” and “infinite contrast.” -
4/03/2020 - NAD Refers Advertising by Oracle to FTC After Company Repeatedly Fails to Comply with NAD Recommendations
The National Advertising Division has referred advertising claims made by Oracle Corporation to the Federal Trade Commission, following NAD’s determination that the company has not made a good faith effort to comply with the recommendations of previous NAD decisions. -

The National Advertising Division has referred advertising claims made by MillerCoors, LLC, to the Federal Trade Commission for further review, following the company’s refusal to participate in a review of certain advertising claims. -
4/03/2020 - NAD Recommends Zoetis Discontinue Certain Advertising Claims for Simparica Flea, Tick Preventative following Elanco Challenge
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Zoetis, Inc., discontinue advertising claims that compare the efficacy of the company’s Simparica anti-parasite product to Trifexis, a competing product made by Elanco Animal Health, a division of Eli Lilly and Company.
