DSSRC contacted a direct selling company about a social media post disseminated by one of the company’s salesforce members that conveyed unsubstantiated product, health and wellness benefits including claims that the Company’s products can protect against disease and COVID-19.
The direct selling company promptly responded to DSSRC. The company was able to contact the salesforce member who disseminated the social media post and have the post removed from social media within 24 hours of DSSRC bringing the claim to the company’s attention.
DSSRC expressed its appreciation to the company for its efforts to promptly have the social media post removed from circulation. As a result of the actions taken by the company, DSSRC administratively closed the inquiry.
