8/20/2015 - Blip Toys to Revise TV Commercial for ‘Yummy Nummies’ to Better Disclose Need for Microwave, Depict Adult Supervision
Blip Toys has said it will revise broadcast advertising for certain of the company’s “Yummy Nummies” products to better disclose that some products require use of a microwave oven and to depict adult supervision, action that the Children’s Advertising Review Unit has determined was necessary. -
8/12/2015 - CARU Recommends Hampton Direct Modify Advertising for ‘My Fun Fish Tank’ to Better Disclose Material Information
The Children’s Advertising Review Unit has recommended that Hampton Direct modify advertising for the company’s “My Fun Fish Tank” to better assure that children understand that water added to the tank must be pre-conditioned and neither too hot nor too cold. -
7/21/2015 - CARU Refers Advertising for ‘Jurassic World’ to MPAA for Review
The Children’s Advertising Review Unit referred advertising for Universal Pictures’ “Jurassic World” – rated PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association of America – to the MPAA for review. -
6/24/2015 - CARU Recommends Harlem Globetrotters Modify Website to Better Comply with CARU Guidelines; Company Agrees to Do So
Harlem Globetrotters Inc., operator of HarlemGlobetrotters.com, said it will revise age-screening practices to comply with Children’s Advertising Review Unit (CARU) guidelines. -

6/22/2015 - CARU Recommends Hasbro Modify Advertising for ‘Inquisitor Lightsaber’ to Better Assure Viewers Understand Product’s Capabilities
The Children’s Advertising Review Unit has recommended that Hasbro, Inc., modify broadcast advertising for the company’s “Star Wars Inquisitor Lightsaber” to better assure that child viewers understand the toy does not light up. -

6/10/2015 - CARU Recommends Mattel Modify TV Advertising for ‘Sofia the First Royal Prep Academy’ to Better Disclose What Comes with Initial Purchase
The Children’s Advertising Review Unit has recommended that Mattel, Inc., modify broadcast advertising for the company’s “Sofia The First Royal Prep Academy” playset to more clearly disclose the toys included with the initial purchase of the product. -
5/13/2015 - CARU Recommends Crayola Modify Advertising for ‘Melt N’ Mold’ Factory to Depict Adult Supervision
The Children’s Advertising Review Unit has recommended that Crayola, in future advertising for its “Melt N’ Mold Factory,” visually depicts prominent adult supervision in addition to the audio disclosure stating “adult supervision required” and make clear which products come with an initial purchase.
