DSSRC Administrative Closure #169

The Direct Selling Self-Regulatory Council (“DSSRC”) contacted a direct selling company (the “Company”) regarding three social media posts that DSSRC was concerned conveyed, either through depictions or accompanying text, that the Company’s salesforce members can earn a significant income through the Company’s business opportunity.

The Company promptly responded to DSSRC’s inquiry and was able to have two of the social media posts taken down. The Company informed DSSRC that the remaining social media post originated in South Africa and that the Company would contact its affiliate in that country to request that it contact the salesforce member in question and instruct such salesforce member to remove the post. 

As a result of the Company’s good faith actions to address DSSRC’s concerns, DSSRC administratively closed this inquiry.
