12/02/2020 - BBB National Programs Partners with Facebook to Strengthen Truth-in-Advertising Enforcement on the Social Network's U.S. Platform
New York, NY – December 2, 2020 – Taking an important step to advance the effectiveness of its quick and efficient self-regulatory programs, BBB National Programs today announced a new National Advertising Division (NAD) partnership with Facebook. Effective immediately, this partnership enables NAD to share case outcomes addressing Facebook advertising directly with Facebook, allowing their enforcement teams to then act on those ads that violate their policies. The result will be to encourage ethical practices among advertisers and a stronger, more robust system of self-regulation.

11/30/2020 - Arcadia Consumer Healthcare Violates National Advertising Division Procedures
New York, NY – November 30, 2020 – The National Advertising Division (NAD) determined that Arcadia Consumer Healthcare violated Section I2(b) of the Procedures for the U.S. advertising industry’s process of self-regulation by using the outcome of an NAD case for promotional purposes. The advertising claims at issue in the case were challenged by Arcadia. -

10/28/2020 - CapRate Events, LLC Violates National Advertising Division Procedures with Public Mischaracterization of France Media, Inc. Case Decision
New York, NY – October 28, 2020 – The National Advertising Division (NAD) today determined that CapRate Events, LLC violated Section I2(b) of the Procedures for the U.S. advertising industry’s process of self-regulation by mischaracterizing NAD’s decision regarding advertising for its competitor, commercial real estate publisher France Media Inc, (FMI), via email to multiple industry professionals. -

The National Advertising Division (NAD) of BBB National Programs today launched its NAD Complex Track advertising challenge process, a new customized option to support complex cases with greater transparency and more predictable scheduling. This launch comes just four months after the new expedited NAD Fast-Track SWIFT process launched in early April 2020. -

7/22/2020 - Digital Advertising Accountability Program’s New Political Ads Report Finds Some Campaigns Fall Short of Transparency Best Practices
Amid widespread news stories that Facebook Inc. is considering imposing a ban on political ads in the days leading up to the U.S. election in November, BBB National Programs’ Digital Advertising Accountability Program (DAAP) today issued a report detailing how some political advertisers right now fall far short of full compliance with advertising transparency best practices, as well as a companion analysis of publicly available political ad data provided by Facebook and Google. -

BBB National Programs’ Direct Selling Self-Regulatory Council (DSSRC), in partnership with the Direct Selling Association (DSA), today released new Guidance on Earnings Claims that defines and identifies earnings claims to ensure all representations made by direct-selling companies or members of their salesforce comply with legal and self-regulatory standards.
