DSSRC Administrative Closure #139

The Direct Selling Self-Regulatory Council (“DSSRC”) contacted a direct selling company (the “Company”) regarding two social media posts disseminated by Company sales force members on Facebook. The subject claims and social media posts came to DSSRC’s attention pursuant to its independent monitoring of advertising in the direct selling marketplace.

The Facebook posts both originated outside of the United States and each post listed a number of serious health conditions that the Company’s product can allegedly treat including, but not limited to, cancer, diabetes and COVID-19.

Shortly after receiving DSSRC’s inquiry, the Company reached out to its internal compliance divisions and had the two Facebook posts immediately disabled.  

Based upon the Company’s prompt and good faith actions to address the concerns of DSSRC, the inquiry was administratively closed.
