A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Juan Herrera currently serves as Vice President of Dispute Resolution Programs for BBB National Programs. In this role, Mr. Herrera oversees BBB AUTO LINE®, the largest automotive warranty dispute resolution program in the United States and one of BBB National Programs’ flagship products, and is responsible for budgeting, planning, organizing, and managing the strategy for the Dispute Resolution Division. He strives to deliver continual improvement of the division’s existing programs and also leads in the design and development of new programs for industries or manufacturers in need of a neutral, cost effective, and efficient out-of-court dispute resolution process. This includes working with manufacturers to analyze and identify areas where dispute resolution will be beneficial for their businesses and their customers. 

Mr. Herrera has served in various roles within BBB AUTO LINE® since joining BBB National Programs in 1994 (formerly the Council of Better Business Bureaus). In these different roles, he was involved in all functions of administering the dispute resolution programs and gained valuable experience in the mediation and arbitration processes from every angle. This experience allowed him to step comfortably into a director role, which eventually led to his appointment as a vice president within the organization. In addition to his executive responsibility for today’s BBB AUTO LINE®, Mr. Herrera continues to further his education and knowledge of dispute resolution by participating in numerous alternative dispute resolution training programs.

While serving in the U.S. Navy, Mr. Herrera was a hospital corpsman, including a tour of duty in the Southeast Asia Theater during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Upon leaving the military, Mr. Herrera received a BA in international relations from the School of International Service at the American University in Washington, DC. He currently lives in suburban Maryland, outside of the Nation’s Capital.
