Expert speakers will examine legal trends and address key issues in advertising claim substantiation, FTC enforcement priorities, use of disclosures in social media,“natural” claims, an update on class action advertising litigation and much more. The conference will provide attendees with practical guidance to enhance their use of the advertising industry’s self-regulatory forum.
CARU, October 3
Edith Ramirez, Commissioner, Federal Trade Commission will join the faculty as faculty Keynote Speaker. Commissioner Ramirez will address the proposed changes to COPPA, including the proposals that have just been released. There will also be a panel dedicated to how the changes will implement corporate privacy practices nationwide, featuring FTC Attorney Mamie Kresses.

ERSP welcomes Lois Greisman, Associate Director, Division of Marketing Practices, FTC as the opening presenter on October 3, 2012 at 9am.
Industry professionals will focus on the prevailing issues in the direct response industry including the proliferation of consumer testimonials in social media, claim substantiation challenges and the importance of the Electronic Retailing Self-Regulation Program. At the half-day workshop, panel members will also be discussing various developments in telemarketing, lead generation advertising and the process of bringing a product idea through the different stages of a successful direct response advertising campaign.
