Webinar: Now What? Cross-Border Data Transfers after Schrems II
Sep 2, 2020 by BBB National Programs
The recent Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) decision known as Schrems II has created an atmosphere of uncertainty for all businesses that rely on the transfer of personal data from the EU to the U.S. This includes the more than 5,000 Privacy Shield businesses and many others that rely on other mechanisms for EU-U.S. transfers, all of which were called into question by the CJEU.
To shed light on this developing situation, BigID hosted a webinar discussion with a panel of privacy experts. BBB National Programs’ Cobun Zweifel-Keegan, Deputy Director, Privacy Initiatives, was joined by Hogan Lovells' Julian Flamant, Accenture's Ben Shorten, and BigID’s Heather Federman.
The webinar covers:
- The context and history of the Schrems II case,
- The challenges businesses are facing in this time of uncertainty,
- The top considerations for privacy professionals as they ponder how to approach the future of cross-border data transfers, and
- Projections on the long-term implications of trade relations between the EU and the U.S.
