  • 5/02/2022 - Privacy Watchdog Finds T-Mobile in Substantial Compliance with Advertising Privacy Best Practices

    McLean, VA – May 2, 2022 – BBB National Programs’ data privacy watchdog, the Digital Advertising Accountability Program (DAAP), worked with T-Mobile USA, Inc. to bring it into compliance with the Digital Advertising Alliance’s (DAA) Self-Regulatory Principles. DAAP monitors the digital marketplace for compliance with digital advertising best practices. As part of its ongoing monitoring activity, DAAP conducted a review of T-Mobile’s Privacy Notice, as published on its website. 

  • 2/02/2022 - Privacy Watchdog Brings Funeral Company into Compliance with Ad Privacy Best Practices

    McLean, VA – February 2, 2022 – BBB National Programs’ data privacy watchdog, the Digital Advertising Accountability Program (DAAP), brought 13 websites for funeral, cremation, and cemetery services provider Service Corporation International (SCI) into compliance with the Digital Advertising Alliance’s (DAA) Self-Regulatory Principles. 
  • 4/07/2021 - BBB National Programs’ Privacy Watchdog Brings Public Safety App into Compliance with Ad Privacy Best Practices

    McLean, VA – April 7, 2021 – BBB National Programs’ data privacy watchdog, the Digital Advertising Accountability Program (DAAP), released a new data privacy case decision for the public safety app MobilePatrol. Appriss, the publisher of MobilePatrol, worked with DAAP to bring its app into compliance with the Digital Advertising Alliance’s (DAA) Self-Regulatory Principles for privacy and interest-based advertising. During its marketplace monitoring, DAAP discovered that third parties were collecting mobile device identifiers and location data through MobilePatrol, which has more than five million downloads in the Google Play Store.

  • 3/09/2021 - Two of BBB National Programs’ Self-Regulatory Watchdogs Bring Azerion Gaming Website and App into Compliance with Privacy Best Practices

    McLean, VA – March 9, 2021 – Two self-regulatory watchdog units of BBB National Programs, the Digital Advertising Accountability Program (DAAP) and the Children’s Advertising Review Unit (CARU), today released the result of a new data privacy case for the children’s gaming site Girls Go Games and the mobile app My Dolphin Show. Azerion, the publisher of Girls Go Games and My Dolphin Show, worked with DAAP and CARU to bring its online services into compliance with the Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) Principles for privacy and interest-based advertising, and CARU’s Advertising Guidelines, respectively.  

  • 12/01/2020 - Privacy Watchdog Brings Healthcare Company into Compliance with Ad Privacy Best Practices

    McLean, VA – December 1, 2020 – BBB National Programs’ data privacy watchdog, the Digital Advertising Accountability Program (DAAP), today released the result of a new data privacy case for the healthcare and medical devices company Abbott, who worked with DAAP to bring more than 60 of its websites into compliance with the Digital Advertising Alliance’s (DAA) Self-Regulatory Principles. 
  • 10/08/2020 - Privacy Watchdog Brings Suite of Utility Apps into Compliance with Digital Ad Privacy Best Practices

    Arlington, VA – October 8, 2020 – BBB National Programs’ privacy watchdog, the Digital Advertising Accountability Program (DAAP), today released the result of a new data privacy case for Florida-based app publisher BPMobile. DAAP found that the app was authorizing third-party adtech companies to collect device IDs and geolocation data, leading DAAP to then test BPMobile’s full suite of mobile apps.
