Privacy in Practice: Enforcing the CTDPA with the Connecticut AG’s Office



This June, Connecticut passed amendments to its consumer privacy law, the Connecticut Data Privacy Act (CTDPA). The CTDPA, which took effect in July 2023, grants important data rights to Connecticut residents and solidifies critical privacy obligations for covered businesses. 

BBB National Programs’ senior vice president of privacy initiatives, Dona Fraser, joins Michele Lucan, Deputy Associate Attorney General, Chief of the Privacy Section, Office of the Connecticut Attorney General, to dig into the ins and outs of the CTDPA, discuss enforcement action priorities, and explore what the law requires of businesses, why the new law matters, and what changes will directly impact consumers.
