Direct Selling Self-Regulatory Council Recommends JIFU Modify or Discontinue Certain Earnings Claims

McLean, VA – April 11, 2025 – The Direct Selling Self-Regulatory Council (DSSRC) of BBB National Programs recommended that JIFU Travel, LLC modify or discontinue earnings claims made on the JIFU website and by salesforce members on social media.

The earnings claims at issue were identified by DSSRC through its ongoing, independent monitoring of advertising claims in the direct selling industry.

The earnings claims that formed the basis of this inquiry include, but were not limited to:
  • “I’m showing 100 people how to get 3 to 50k a month 😳 Start your wholesale travel business for $32.50 down using Klarna!  $130 total! Lock in at top spots, timing and positioning is everything don’t wait!”
  • “We have an opportunity that MOST people can now join with $0 out of pocket cost that can generate thousands of dollars monthly”
  • “My goal is to replace my full time income in the next year!!”
  • “For some affiliates, that means making some extra income to supplement their full time job, that means earning serious cash and making JIFU their full time gig”
  • “Your journey to success & financial freedom starts now”
  • “Your dedication and relentless drive have earned you a well-deserved milestone, bringing in $700 USD per month in passive residual income! #FinancialFreedom”
  • “Unlock Financial Freedom with Knowledge! 💡
  • “How you can make 5 figures a month all from home”
  • “I make 5 figures a month all from my cell phone in 1 to 2 hours a day
  • “Did you know that you could actually be making 6 figures a month and not have a college degree?”
  • “I have no experience online but I am on my way to well making 5 figures a month.”

DSSRC determined that these earnings claims communicate an unrealistic picture of the income that the typical JIFU salesforce member can generally expect to receive from participating in the JIFU business opportunity

JIFU did not attempt to support the earnings claims that were brought to its attention and took immediate action to contact the individuals responsible for the claims at issue and request that they be removed. DSSRC confirmed that 12 of the 14 claims identified were removed.

However, DSSRC remained concerned with the still existing, unqualified claims communicating that the typical JIFU salesforce member can earn significant income from the JIFU business opportunity. In the absence of any evidence demonstrating that the earnings claims communicated in the remaining social media posts reflect the amount of income that can be generally expected by the typical JIFU salesforce member, DSSRC recommended that the remaining posts be discontinued or modified to remove the subject earnings claims.

DSSRC recommended that if JIFU remains unsuccessful in having the individuals remove the posts, it should pursue appropriate enforcement mechanisms against the salesforce members responsible for the claims and subsequently contact Facebook to advise them of the unauthorized claims and request that the posts be removed.

In its advertiser statement, JIFU stated that it “is a strong advocate for industry self-regulation and appreciates the opportunity to address DSSRC’s inquiry” and “fully agrees to adhere to the recommendations outlined in the report.”
