Katjes USA Joins Children’s Confection Advertising Initiative, Pledges Not to Engage in Advertising Primarily Directed to Children

McLean, VA – May 14, 2026 – BBB National Programs’ Children’s Confection Advertising Initiative (CCAI) welcomes Katjes USA, Inc. as its newest participant. In joining CCAI, Katjes pledges not to engage in advertising primarily directed to children under age 13 or to children in elementary and middle schools.

Katjes is Europe’s largest vegan gummy brand. Family-owned since 1950, Katjes is headquartered in Germany and specializes in a wide variety of gummy products sold through the world. Katjes entered the U.S. market in 2021.

CCAI is an advertising self-regulatory program for small-to-medium-sized confectionery companies developed by BBB National Programs in partnership with the National Confectioners Association (NCA) and launched in 2016. Each CCAI participant publicly pledges not to advertise directly to children under age 13 or to children in elementary or middle schools.

CCAI is modeled on the Children’s Food and Beverage Advertising Initiative (CFBAI), an advertising self-regulatory program of BBB National Programs launched in 2007 for larger food and beverage companies. CFBAI participants include leading food, beverage, and quick-serve restaurant companies, including most of the largest confectionary companies that have each pledged not to advertise to children.
