DSSRC Administrative Closure #12

DSSRC contacted a direct selling company regarding three income claims. Specifically, claims from Company salesforce members appeared on various social media platforms including YouTube, Facebook and Facebook Watch and included references to company representatives being able to financially support themselves, make “good money” and the kind of income they desired. In addition, another post included a “part time work and full time pay” claim along with a representation of earning “great income” accompanied by claims of making up to $5,000 a month. All of the atypical claims appeared in an unqualified context without the disclosure of any material information.

After receipt of the inquiry, the Company reached out to DSSRC and indicated that it had contacted the Company salesforce members who had posted the subject claims and informed DSSRC that the posts were immediately removed.
