DSSRC Administrative Closure #202

The Direct Selling Self-Regulatory Council (“DSSRC”) contacted a direct selling company (the “Company”) regarding three Facebook posts that DSSRC was concerned communicated the message that the Company’s products are effective in treating several serious health related conditions such as autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and asthma. The posts were identified by DSSRC pursuant to its ongoing, independent monitoring of the direct selling industry.

The company promptly responded to DSSRC’s notice of inquiry and immediately investigated and worked to get the non-compliant posts removed. Two posts were promptly removed, and the Company contacted Facebook directly to remove the third post. All non-compliant posts have now been removed from circulation.

Based on the Company’s good faith actions to address DSSRC’s concerns, DSSRC administratively closed this inquiry.
