DSSRC Administrative Closure #4

DSSRC inquired into the earning claims disseminated on Facebook by a multi-level direct selling company. The statements at issue mentioned the ability to earn a full-time income and the possibility of replacing one’s day job as well as earning perks such as all-expense paid vacations to exotic places.

In response, the company removed the posts at issue and instructed the sellers responsible for the posts to remove any similar earnings claims that they may have posted elsewhere. DSSRC does acknowledge the difficulties of compliance and monitoring for the company, given the size of its network. The company also promised to dedicate additional resources and personnel towards training and compliance to ensure further cooperation in the future. DSSRC is grateful for the company's prompt action in response to its inquiry.
