Case Decisions

DSSRC Administrative Closure #94

DSSRC contacted a direct selling company about one Instagram post disseminated by one of the company’s salesforce members regarding the Company’s product for children. DSSRC determined that the post inferred that use of the Company’s product would boost their immune system and protect children from COVID-19.

The Company was able to contact the salesforce member responsible for the post and had it removed the same day that they were contacted by DSSRC about the inappropriateness of the post. In addition, the Company informed DSSRC that it was bolstering its compliance department to provide greater oversight over posts being made by salesforce members and that the Company compliance team would be providing additional training regarding unauthorized health-related posts.

DSSRC administratively closed the inquiry based upon the prompt remedial actions taken by the Company
