1/13/2020 - BBB National Programs National Advertising Review Board Refers Advertising Claims Made by Neurocore to Federal Trade Commission After Company Fails to Comply with NARB Recommendations
The National Advertising Review Board (NARB) has referred advertising claims made by Neurocore, LLC to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for review after the NARB concluded that the company did not comply with NARB’s recommendations. -
1/13/2020 - NARB Refers Advertising Claims Made by Neurocore to Federal Trade Commission After Company Fails to Comply with NARB Recommendations
The National Advertising Review Board (NARB) has referred advertising claims made by Neurocore, LLC to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for review after the NARB concluded that the company did not comply with NARB’s recommendations. At issue were Neurocore’s quantified outcome claims based on Neurocore’s internal studies and testimonials that claim Neurocore clients have reduced or eliminated the need for medication with ADHD, anxiety, depression, memory problems, migraines, or sleep disorders. -
1/11/2020 - Certain Advertising Claims for iQ Natural Flooring Permanently Discontinued Following NAD Challenge
Tarkett USA, Inc. stated that it will permanently discontinue certain challenged express claims for its iQ Natural Flooring product in brochures and website advertising, following a challenge before the National Advertising Division by competitor Armstrong Flooring, Inc. -
1/09/2020 - BBB National Programs National Advertising Division Inquiry of Tru NIAGEN Dietary Supplement Closes Without Review of Discontinued Product; Advertising Claims Permanently Discontinued
ChromaDex, Inc., the maker of Tru NIAGEN dietary supplement, has advised the National Advertising Division that the advertising claims at issue in a May 1, 2018 inquiry letter were permanently discontinued, and the 250 mg product then-advertised has not been marketed since late 2018, when a 300 mg product entered the market. -
1/09/2020 - NAD Inquiry of Tru NIAGEN Dietary Supplement Closes Without Review of Discontinued Product; Advertising Claims Permanently Discontinued

The National Advertising Division determined that Kimberly-Clark Corporation’s “better leakage protection* *Size 1 urine leakage” claim for its Huggies Little Snugglers diapers conveys a “line claim” in certain identified social media advertising. -

The National Advertising Division determined that Kimberly-Clark Corporation’s “better leakage protection* *Size 1 urine leakage” claim for its Huggies Little Snugglers diapers conveys a “line claim” in certain identified social media advertising. Further, NAD determined that this broad line claim was not supported and recommended that the disclosure be modified to clearly and conspicuously limit the claim to “Size 1 urine leakage.” The claim at issue was challenged by The Procter & Gamble Company, maker of competing Pampers Swaddlers Diapers. -
1/06/2020 - NARB Recommends Discontinuance or Modification of Two Verizon Commercials Featuring Consumer Testimonials
A panel of the National Advertising Review Board (NARB) has recommended that Verizon Wireless, Inc. discontinue or modify two commercials featuring a “paid real customer story,” in which a customer describes an aspect of his or her Verizon Wireless service. NARB is the appellate unit of the advertising industry’s system of self-regulation. The advertising at issue had been challenged by AT&T Services, Inc. before the National Advertising Division (NAD). NAD is an investigative unit of the advertising industry’s system of self-regulation. Following NAD’s decision, AT&T appealed NAD’s finding that the claims communicated by Verizon’s “Kellene” commercial (15-second version) were supported. Verizon then exercised its right under the applicable rules of procedure to file a cross-appeal with regard to NAD’s recommendations to discontinue or modify the “Ned” commercial. -

A panel of the National Advertising Review Board (NARB) has found that ENERGYbits Inc. (EBits) failed to provide proper and/or acceptable substantiation for health-related and environmental claims for the company’s ENERGYbits Spirulina Algae (Spirulina Tablets) and recommended that such claims be discontinued.
