Generex Biotechnology Participates In ERSP Forum

New York, NY –  July 21,  2010 – The Electronic Retailing Self-Regulation Program (ERSP) has determined that Generex Biotechnology Corporation has provided adequate support for a some claims made in direct response advertising for the Crave-NX 7 Day Diet Spray, but recommended the marketer modify others.

ERSP, the electronic direct-response industry’s self-regulatory forum, is administered by the Council of Better Business Bureaus (CBBB) with policy oversight by the National Advertising Review Council (NARC).

The  marketer’s  advertising  came  to  the  attention  of  ERSP’s  attention  through  ERSP monitoring program.

ERSP examined claims in print, broadcast, and online advertising that included:

  • · “Save up to 2 pounds per week!”
  • · “If you save as little as 250 calories a day for 1 year that equals 91,250 calories or 26 pounds!”
  • · “Works in seconds; Lasts for hours”
  • · “Clinically Tested”
  • · “Patent Pending”

ERSP determined that Generex provided adequate support for claims that there is a “Patent Pending” for Crave-NX and “If you save as little as 250 calories a day for 1 year that equals 91,250 calories or 26 pounds!”.

ERSP requested that the marketer modify its claims that product users will “Save up to 2 pounds a week,” that the product has been “Clinically tested”, and that Crave-NX “Works in Seconds. Lasts for Hours.”

The company, in its marketer’s statement, said “Generex agrees to accept ERSP’s decisions and agrees to modify the advertising… .”
