Hobbytron.com Substantiates Claims In ERSP Forum

New York,NY– April  6, 2007 – The Electronic Retailing Self-Regulation Program (ERSP) has announced that Hobbytron.com (Hobbytron), marketer of the B-29 Super Fortress RC Electric Airplane (B-29), has substantiated the claims reviewed pursuant to a consumer complaint.

ERSP,  the  electronic  direct-response  industry’s  self-regulatory  forum,  is  administered  by  the Council of Better Business Bureaus (CBBB) with policy oversight by the National Advertising Review Council (NARC).

ERSP reviewed the following core claims:

  • “B-29 Super Fortress RC Electric Airplane RTF”
  • “The B-29 Super Fortress Rc Electric Airplane is a ready to fly plane which means it comes with everything you need to get off the ground”

ERSP’s inquiry focused on whether the product was accurately labeled as a “Ready to Fly” plane, or RTF,  as opposed to an “Almost Ready to Fly” plane, or ARF.

ERSP reviewed product information submitted by Hobbytron that indicated consumers, upon purchase of the B-29, would be required to tighten five screws and snap into place five parts – a final assembly process that would take about six minutes. By contrast an “Almost Ready to Fly” product might include more than 60 parts and several hours of time for final assembly.

Following its review, ERSP determined that Hobbytron provided a reasonable basis for supporting the core claim that the B-29 Super Fortress RC Electric Airplane is a RTF plane.
