The National Advertising Division recommended that UPSLabs discontinue all claims reviewed by NAD for the company’s Jacked3d and Jack3d Micro dietary supplements. The company has agreed to discontinue the claims. -
5/07/2013 - NAD Refers Advertising Claims for ‘eHeat’ Products tof FTC for Further Review
The National Advertising Division has referred advertising for “eHeat,” a wall-mounted convection heater, to the Federal Trade Commission for further review, after the company failed to respond to an inquiry from the NAD. -
5/02/2013 - NAD Recommends Morton Discontinue Certain Advertising Claims for System Saver II Water Softening Salt Pellets
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Morton Salt, Inc., discontinue certain advertising claims for the company’s System Saver II water softening salt pellets. The claims at issue, published on packaging and in broadcast, print and Internet advertising, were challenged by Cargill, Incorporated, the maker of competing water softening salt pellets under the Diamond Crystal brand. -
5/02/2013 - NAD Finds Energizer Can Support Claims that Schick Hydro Silk Razors Moisturize for Up to Two Hours After Shaving; Claims Challenged by Gillette
The National Advertising Division has determined that Energizer Personal Care, LLC, can support claims that its Schick Hydro Silk razors, fabricated with a serum that contains marine extracts and activates upon contact with water, moisturized for up to two hours after shaving. -
4/23/2013 - NAD Recommends Interhealth Nutraceuticals Discontinue Certain Claims for Zychrome Supplements, Following Nutrition 21 Challenge
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Interhealth Nutraceuticals, Inc., discontinue certain claims for the company’s Zychrome dietary supplements, products that are promoted for the management of insulin levels. -
4/23/2013 - CARU Reviews Advertising for Razor ‘ProXX Scooter,’ Company Says It Will Not Direct ProXX Advertising at Issue in CARU Inquiry to Children
The Children’s Advertising Review Unit recommended that Razor USA LLC, which markets the Razor ProXX Scooter, modify print advertising for the product to better depict the use of safety gear. In response to CARU’s inquiry, the company said it would not place this advertisement in child-directed publications. -
4/23/2013 - CARU Reviews Advertising for Cra-Z-Art ‘Lite Brix,’ Recommends Company Add New Disclosures to Broadcast Ad
The Children’s Advertising Review Unit recommended that LaRose Industries, LLC, doing business as Cra-Z-Art, modify broadcast advertising for the company’s Lite Brix products to better disclose the items that come with initial purchase and the need for batteries. -

4/10/2013 - NAD Recommends Bausch + Lomb Modify, Discontinue Certain Claims Made in Advertorial; Claims Challenged by Alcon Laboratories
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Bausch + Lomb Inc., modify or discontinue certain claims made in an advertorial context that refer to Alcon Laboratories, Inc.’s OPTI-FREE RepleniSH contact lens solution. -
4/09/2013 - NAD Recommends Goodnighties Discontinue All Claims at Issue in Consumer Challenge; Company Agrees to Do So
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Goodnighties, Inc., discontinue certain advertising claims, including claims that the ionized fibers in the company’s sleepwear neutralize stress and that the company’s sleepwear “increases oxygen flow in blood cells to help rest, recover and restore tired achy muscles.”
