The National Advertising Division has recommended that DERMADoctor discontinue advertising claims that state or suggest the company’s “Photodynamic Therapy Laser Lotion” offers the same benefits as physician-administered light treatments. -
2/05/2013 - NAD Determines Anheuser-Busch Can Support ‘Light’ Claim for ‘Michelob ULTRA Light Cider’
The National Advertising Division has determined that Anheuser-Busch, LLC, can support the claim that its Michelob ULTRA Light Cider has one-third fewer calories than an average of “the leading regular ciders.” -
2/04/2013 - Accountability Program Brings AdChoices Icon to Facebook Exchange (FBX)
The Online Interest-Based Advertising Accountability Program today released a decision finding that Facebook has taken meaningful steps to increase transparency and choice by enabling third parties to provide the Digital Advertising Alliance’s (DAA) Advertising Options Icon for interest-based ads served through Facebook Exchange (FBX). -
2/01/2013 - NAD Refers Advertising for Diaper Rash Product to FTC after Summers Laboratories Declines to Abide by NAD Recommendations
The National Advertising Division has referred advertising claims made by Summers Laboratories, Inc., for its Triple Paste Medicated Diaper Rash Ointment to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for further review, after the company declined to abide by NAD recommendations. -
1/31/2013 - NAD Recommends Kraft Discontinue Certain Claims Made on Packaging for Gevalia Kaffee Products, Following Starbucks Challenge
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Kraft Foods discontinue advertising claims that suggest Kraft’s single-serve Gevalia Kaffee-brand coffees taste similar to certain single-serve coffees sold by Starbucks Corporation. -
1/31/2013 - NAD Recommends Envirocon Discontinue Certain Claims for Two ‘Lemi Shine’ Products; Finds Advertiser Can Support ‘Natural’ Active Ingredient Claim
The National Advertising Division recommended that Envirocon Technologies discontinue certain claims for the company’s “Lemi Shine” dishwasher products, but determined the advertiser could support a claim that its rinse product contains a natural active ingredient. -
1/30/2013 - NAD Finds Sea Foam’s Laboratory Testing is Sufficient to Support Certain Advertising Claims Challenged by ITW Global Brands
The National Advertising Division has determined that the Sea Foam Sales can support certain advertising claims made for the company’s Sea Foam Motor Treatment, a product made for use in both automotive and small engines. NAD further recommended the advertiser discontinue certain claims. -
1/22/2013 - NAD Recommends Nature’s Answer Discontinue Claims for its ‘Bio-Strath’ Supplement, Including Claims Related to Pregnancy, Disease, ADD-ADHD
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Nature’s Answer, LLC, discontinue a wide range of Internet advertising claims for “Bio-Strath,” including claims that the supplement benefits children with ADD/ADHD, pregnant women, people recovering from cancer treatments, people with dementia and people with diabetes. -
1/16/2013 - NAD Refers Advertising Claims for ‘Salonpas’ Products to FDA, FTC
The National Advertising Division has referred to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Federal Trade Commission (FTC) advertising claims made by Hisamitsu America, Inc., manufacturer of Salonpas Brand Pain Relief products. -
1/16/2013 - NAD Finds P&G Took Necessary Action in Discontinuing Claims Challenged by Libman
The Procter and Gamble Company said it has permanently discontinued advertising claims and product demonstrations that were challenged before the National Advertising Division by The Libman Company, a competing manufacturer of household cleaning products.
