6/26/2023 - National Advertising Division Finds Simply Gum’s “Made With Chicle,” and “Natural” Claims Supported; Recommends Others be Modified or Discontinued
New York, NY – June 26, 2023 – The National Advertising Division (NAD) of BBB National Programs determined that Simply Gum, Inc. provided a reasonable basis for claims that its Simply Gum brand chewing gum is “made with chicle” and “natural” and concluded that, in context, Simply Gum’s “simpler better” claim was puffery. However, NAD recommended that the advertiser discontinue certain claims.

6/20/2023 - National Advertising Review Board Recommends JBS Discontinue “Net Zero” Emissions by 2040 Claims
New York, NY – June 20, 2023 – A panel of the National Advertising Review Board (NARB), the appellate advertising body of BBB National Programs, recommended that JBS USA Holdings, Inc. discontinue certain claims relating to its goal of achieving “net zero” emissions by 2040.

6/13/2023 - Ticketmaster Agrees to Update and Strengthen Website to Comply with Digital Advertising Alliance’s Self-Regulatory Principles
McLean, VA – June 13, 2023 - The Digital Advertising Accountability Program (DAAP) worked with Ticketmaster Entertainment, LLC to bring its website into compliance with the Digital Advertising Alliance’s (DAA) Self-Regulatory Principles.

6/12/2023 - National Advertising Division Refers Claims on Smarter-Reviews.com to Federal Trade Commission for Further Review
New York, NY – June 12, 2023 – The National Advertising Division (NAD) referred advertising claims made by Smarter Reviews to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

6/08/2023 - National Advertising Division Finds Certain Consumer Cellular Wireless Service Plan Claims Supported; Recommends Others be Modified or Discontinued
New York, NY – June 8, 2023 – The National Advertising Division (NAD) determined that certain claims made by Consumer Cellular for its wireless service plans were supported. However, NAD recommended that Consumer Cellular modify or discontinue other claims. The claims were challenged by competitor T-Mobile.

6/07/2023 - Cargill Voluntarily Discontinues Certain Claims for Nutrena® NatureWise® Chicken Feeds Following National Advertising Division Challenge
New York, NY – June 7, 2023 – Following a National Advertising Division (NAD) challenge brought by competitor Purina, Cargill voluntarily discontinued certain comparative performance and superiority claims for its Nutrena® NatureWise® line of chicken feeds.

6/06/2023 - Direct Selling Self-Regulatory Council Refers Wayal Health Product Performance Claims to the FTC for Possible Enforcement Action
McLean, VA – June 6, 2023 – The Direct Selling Self-Regulatory Council (DSSRC) referred Wayal Health to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for possible enforcement action after it failed to respond to a DSSRC inquiry into aggressive health-related product performance claims made on social media by the company and its salesforce members.

5/25/2023 - National Advertising Review Board Recommends Modifications to T-Mobile Home Internet “Fast,” “High-Speed,” and “Reliable” Claims
New York, NY – May 25, 2023 – A panel of the National Advertising Review Board (NARB) found that T-Mobile‘s express claims for T-Mobile Home Internet (T-HINT) are supported, but recommended certain modifications to the claims so consumers understand the context in which they will receive internet service and the type of performance to expect through T-HINT.
