3/09/2020 - National Advertising Division Recommends Modification to Label of Ecover Dish Soap to Clearly Identify that Biodegradable Claim Applies Only to Product Formula
The National Advertising Division (“NAD”) recommended that S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc. (“SCJ”) modify use of the claim “biodegradable” on the front label of its Ecover dish soap product to make clear that it only applies to the product formula and not the product packaging, following a challenge by The Procter & Gamble Company (“P&G”), maker of Dawn dish soap.

3/04/2020 - National Advertising Division Refers Advertising Claims Made by Ava Science to Federal Trade Commission
The National Advertising Division (NAD) has referred advertising claims made by Ava Science, Inc. for its Ava Ovulation Bracelet to the Federal Trade Commission for further review after the company declined to confirm that it would comply with NAD’s recommendation to modify certain claims despite multiple attempts by NAD to obtain a response.

3/03/2020 - Certain Advertising Claims for Doggie Dailies Dietary Supplement Permanently Discontinued Following National Advertising Division Inquiry
Doggie Dailies, the maker of Doggie Dailies dietary supplement, stated that it will permanently discontinue the advertising claims that were at issue in an inquiry before the National Advertising Division (NAD).

2/24/2020 - National Advertising Division Recommends Johnson & Johnson Modify or Discontinue Certain Intraocular Lens Claims, Finds Other Claims Supported
The National Advertising Division (NAD) recommended that Johnson & Johnson Surgical Vision, Inc. (“JJSV”) modify or discontinue certain challenged claims for its TECNIS Intraocular Lenses, following a challenge by Alcon Vision, LLC, maker of the competing AcrySof line of intraocular lenses, including AcrySof IQ ReSTOR Multifocal IOLs (“ReSTOR”). -
2/21/2020 - National Advertising Division Refers Advertising Claims for CannaPure CBD Oil to Federal Trade Commission
The National Advertising Division (NAD) has referred advertising claims made by a company D/B/A Grade A Nutraceuticals for its CannaPure CBD Oil dietary supplement to the Federal Trade Commission for further review, following a challenge by the Council for Responsible Nutrition. The advertiser did not respond to NAD’s requests to provide substantiation for its claims.

2/19/2020 - BBB National Programs National Advertising Division Recommends Discontinuation of Claims that 2020 Jeep Gladiator has “Best-in-Class” Payload and Towing Capacity
The National Advertising Division (NAD) recommended that FCA US LLC discontinue claims that the 2020 Jeep Gladiator has “Best-in-Class” payload and towing capacity, and that it is “the most off-road capable midsize pickup truck ever,” following a challenge by Ford Motor Company. -
2/18/2020 - BBB National Programs National Advertising Division Recommends that Commercials for Capital One Spark Cash Card be Modified
The National Advertising Division (NAD) determined that consumer testimonials featuring endorsers who describe earning $36,000 and $115,000 in cash back rewards, through the Capital One Spark Cash Card benefit of unlimited 2% cash back on all purchases, fail to describe the limited and exceptional circumstances in which all of those expenses can be charged to the Spark Card. -

The National Advertising Division (NAD) has referred advertising claims made by ConsumerTrack, Inc. for its GoFreeCredit.com product to the Federal Trade Commission for further review. The advertiser did not respond to NAD’s requests to provide substantiation for its claims. -
