The National Advertising Division has recommended that the United States Postal Service better disclose to consumers the restrictions that apply to the claim “$50 insurance included in Priority Mail service.” -

The National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus has determined that Unilever United States, Inc., had a reasonable basis for certain advertising claims made for its Dove Therapy hair conditioners, but recommended the advertiser modify implied claims regarding the product’s ability to “restore shine.” -

The National Advertising Division has recommended that UltraBotanica, LLC, the maker of UltraCur Dietary Supplements, discontinue all of the advertising claims challenged by Europharma, Inc., the maker of competing products, with the exception of a claim that notes curcumin, a key ingredient in UltraCur, is extracted from turmeric. -

The National Advertising Division has recommended that Tru Derma, LLC, discontinue advertising claims challenged by the Council for Responsible Nutrition, for the company’s Mangodrin XTREME Formula and Mangodrin Stimulant Free dietary supplements. -

The National Advertising Division has referred advertising claims made for the dietary supplement “Verified Forskolin” to the Federal Trade Commission for further review, after the operator of a website where the product is sold – www.verifiedforskolin.com – failed to respond to NAD’s inquiry. -

The National Advertising Division has referred advertising claims for “Steuart’s Pain Formula,” a product promoted by Steuart’s Laboratory, Inc., to the Federal Trade Commission for further review. The company declined to participate in NAD’s review of its advertising claims.

Supplement maker Health Energetic Labs declined to participate in NAD’s review of its advertising claims. -
4/03/2020 - NAD Refers Claims for Aubio’s Cold Sore Treatment Gel to FDA, FTC for Further Review Following GSK Challenge
The National Advertising Division has referred to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Federal Trade Commission (FTC) advertising claims made by Aubio Life Sciences for its Cold Sore Treatment Gel that communicate the product provides relief at the “first sign” of a cold sore or during the “tingling” phase of an outbreak. -
