5/19/2015 - NAD Recommends Comcast Drop Unqualified Claim that ‘CenturyLink Doesn’t Deliver,’ Finds Comcast Can Support ‘Fastest, Most Reliable Internet’ Claims
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Comcast Cable Communications, LLC, modify certain claims made in broadcast advertising to more accurately characterize information from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) report “Measuring Broadband America.” NAD found that the advertiser could support claims that its Xfinity service “gives you the fastest, most reliable Internet.” -
5/14/2015 - National Advertising Review Board Recommends Philosophy Modify or Discontinue Certain Claims for ‘Time in a Bottle’
A panel of the National Advertising Review Board (NARB) has recommended that Philosophy, Inc., modify or discontinue certain advertising claims for the company’s “Time in a Bottle Age-Defying Serum.” -
5/14/2015 - NAD Finds Iovate can Support Challenged Claims for ‘Six Star Whey Protein Plus’
The National Advertising Division has determined that Iovate Health Sciences International, the maker of “Six Star Whey Protein Plus” dietary supplement powder, can support challenged claims for the product. The claims at issue were challenged by the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN). -
5/14/2015 - NAD Recommends Silver Star Brands Discontinue All Challenged Claims for ‘Native Remedies A+ TestCalmer’ Following CRN Challenge
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Silver Star Brands, Inc., discontinue all challenged claims for the company’s “Native Remedies A+ TestCalmer,” a product marketed as providing cognitive and emotional benefits for test takers. -
5/11/2015 - NAD Recommends All Health Systems Discontinue All Challenged Claims for Company’s ‘Big C’ Supplement, Including Implied Cancer-Prevention Claims
The National Advertising Division has recommended that All Health Systems, LLC, discontinue challenged advertising claims for the company’s “Big C” dietary supplements, including any claims that state or suggest the supplement can be used to prevent, treat or manage cancer. The advertiser has agreed to do so. -
5/08/2015 - NAD Recommends Clorox Discontinue Superior Performance Claim, Side-by-Side Comparison with OxiClean WR; Advertiser to Appeal
The National Advertising Division has recommended that The Clorox Company discontinue certain performance claims made in print, Internet and television advertising for Clorox Regular Liquid Bleach. The claims at issue were challenged by Church & Dwight Co., Inc., the maker of OxiClean White Revive. The advertiser has said it will appeal NAD’s decision to the National Advertising Review Board. -
5/08/2015 - NAD Recommends P&G Modify, Discontinue Certain Claims for Olay Ultra Moisture Bar Following Unilever Challenge
The National Advertising Division has recommended that the Procter & Gamble Company modify or discontinue consumer preference claims conveyed in certain print advertising for the company’s Olay Ultra Moisture Beauty Bar. The claims at issue were challenged by Unilever United States, Inc., the maker of Dove white beauty bar. -
5/07/2015 - NAD Recommends MicroGREEN Polymers Discontinue Challenged Claims for ‘InCycle’ Food Service Products
The National Advertising Division has recommended that MicroGREEN Polymers, Inc. discontinue certain claims for the company’s “InCycle” food service products. The claims at issue were challenged by Dart Container Corporation, a competing manufacturer of single-use foodservice products, including plastic cups and lids. -
5/07/2015 - NAD Recommends Helen of Troy Discontinue Certain Claims for PUR Water Filter Pitcher, Finds Certain Claims Supported Following Clorox Challenge
The National Advertising Division has determined that Helen of Troy Limited can support certain claims for the company’s PUR water filter pitcher, but recommended the company discontinue certain claims made on its website and in television commercials. The claims at issue were challenged by The Clorox Company, the maker of competing Brita water filter pitchers. -
