3/29/2017 - NAD Recommends Shell Modify, Discontinue Certain Claims for V-Power NiTRO Premium Gasoline Following BP Challenge; Advertiser to Appeal
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Shell Oil Company modify or discontinue certain challenged claims for the company’s Shell V-Power NiTRO+ Premium Gasoline. -
3/28/2017 - CARU Recommends Tech 4 Kids Modify Broadcast Ad for 3D Magic ImagiPen to Better Disclose Product Drying Time, Need for Adult Supervision
The Children’s Advertising Review Unit (CARU) has recommended that Tech 4 Kids, maker of the 3D Magic ImagiPen, modify broadcast advertising to more clearly disclose both the drying time necessary for the three-dimensional creations produced with the pen and that adult supervision is required. -
3/28/2017 - ThermiGen Says it will Voluntarily Discontinue Certain Claims for ‘ThermiVa’ Device Following Challenge from Viveve
ThermiGen, LLC., said it has voluntarily and permanently discontinued certain advertising claims for the company’s ThermiVa medical device. -
3/24/2017 - NAD Examines Claims for JJCI Sunscreen Product; Recommends Advertiser Discontinue Certain Claims, Finds Certain Claims Supported
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Johnson & Johnson Consumer Inc., modify or discontinue certain claims made in print and broadcast advertising for its Neutrogena UltraSheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen SPF 100+ to avoid conveying a line claim. NAD also recommended the company discontinue claims that “no other sunscreen … feels better” and “best feeling sunscreen ever.” -
3/23/2017 - NAD Examines ‘Before-and-After’ Photos as Part of Challenge to Claims for NeoStrata’s Exuviance Products
The National Advertising Division has examined before-and-after photographs that that appeared in print advertising for two anti-aging products – “Exuviance Retexturing Treatment” and “Exuviance Body Tone Firming Concentrate” – made by NeoStrata, Inc. NAD determined that the advertiser provided adequate substantiation for the claims related to photos of one product, but not the other. -
3/08/2017 - NAD Recommends Beauty Science Group Modify, Discontinue Challenged Claims for ‘Hair La Vie’ Following Challenge by Brock Beauty
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Beauty Science Group, Inc., modify or discontinue challenged advertising claims for the company’s Hair La Vie dietary supplement. -
2/22/2017 - NAD Examines Pricing Claims at Wegmans Following Costco Challenge; Recommends Certain Modifications to Comparative Price Displays
The National Advertising Division has recommended Wegmans Food Markets, Inc., a mid-Atlantic grocery store chain, modify certain in-store comparison pricing displays following a challenge by Costco Wholesale Corporation. -
2/22/2017 - NAD Reviews Claims for Nautilus’ Bowflex TreadClimber, Recommends Advertiser Discontinue ‘All You Have To Do Is Walk’ Claims
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Nautilus, Inc. discontinue certain claims that state or suggest use of the company’s Bowflex TreadClimber will result in dramatic weight loss. -
2/14/2017 - NAD Recommends UltraBotanica Discontinue Challenged Claims for ‘UltraCur’ Curcumin Dietary Supplements, Including Bioavailability Claims
The National Advertising Division has recommended that UltraBotanica, LLC, the maker of UltraCur Dietary Supplements, discontinue all of the advertising claims challenged by Europharma, Inc., the maker of competing products, with the exception of a claim that notes curcumin, a key ingredient in UltraCur, is extracted from turmeric.
