6/30/2016 - NARB Recommends Reckitt Benckiser Discontinue Advertisements for Lysol Disinfecting Wipes and Sprays, Challenged by Clorox
A panel of the National Advertising Review Board (NARB) has recommended that Reckitt Benckiser, Inc., discontinue advertisements for the company’s Lysol Disinfecting Wipes and Spray products that were challenged by The Clorox Company. -
6/14/2016 - NARB Recommends Verizon Modify ‘#1’ Claims to Clarify ‘Customer Satisfaction’ Basis
A panel of the National Advertising Review Board (NARB) has recommended that Verizon Communications, Inc. modify “#1” claims for the company’s FiOS Internet and television service to more clearly communicate the basis for the claims. -
6/13/2016 - NAD Recommends Applegate Discontinue Certain Claims for Cellulose Insulation; Finds Company can Support Certain Claims
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Applegate Insulation discontinue certain claims for the company’s cellulose insulation products, but found the company could support its “R-value per inch” claims. -
6/07/2016 - NAD Recommends P&G Discontinue Certain Claims for Charmin ‘Ultra’ Products Following Kimberly-Clark Challenge; Can Support Certain Claims
The National Advertising Division has determined that The Procter & Gamble Company can support claims that consumers of its Charmin Ultra Strong and Charmin Ultra Soft products may “Use Up To 4x Less.” -
6/07/2016 - NAD Recommends Advanced Nutritional Innovation Discontinue Health Benefits Claims for ‘ionDEFENDER’ Dietary Supplement
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Advanced Nutritional Innovation, Inc., modify or discontinue a wide range of claims made in Internet advertising for the company’s ionDEFENDER dietary supplement. -
6/03/2016 - NAD Recommends Sprint Discontinue Challenged TV Ads Offering ‘50% Off,’ Modify Claims in Internet, In-Store Advertising Following T-Mobile Challenge
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Sprint Corporation discontinue challenged broadcast advertising that promises savings of 50 percent to consumers who switch to Sprint from competing wireless service providers. -
5/26/2016 - NAD Recommends Prestige Discontinue Claim for Monistat ‘Stay Fresh’ Following Challenge by Church & Dwight
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Prestige Brands, Inc., the maker of Monistat Stay Fresh Gel, discontinue claims that the product eliminates vaginal odor “for 3 days with just one use.” The claims at issue were challenged by Church & Dwight Co., Inc., the maker of RepHresh Vaginal Gel, a competing product. -
5/26/2016 - In Response to NAD Inquiry, Maker of ‘Anti-Aging’ Gin Says Product has Been Discontinued
Bompas & Parr, producer of “Anti-AGin Gin” for Warner Leisure Hotels, has advised the National Advertising Division that the product – promoted as providing a host of anti-aging benefits – has been discontinued and will not be re-issued. -
5/25/2016 - Native Advertising: NAD Reviews Joyus’ Product Videos at Magazine’s Online Edition, Recommends Modifications
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Joyus, Inc. – which sells certain products in partnership with an online magazine – modify content to better assure that consumers who click through to a Joyus video know they will be clicking on an ad.
