2/10/2014 - Pharmavite Discontinues Certain Claims for NatureMade Products, Action NAD Found Necessary
Pharmavite LLC, the maker of NatureMade Letter Vitamins, Fish Oil, Flaxseed Oil, CoQ10 and Diabetes Health Pack Supplements, has discontinued broadcast advertising that was the focus of a National Advertising Division inquiry and has said it will better disclose the source of its “#1 Pharmacist Recommended” claims. -
2/04/2014 - NAD Recommends Murad Modify ‘Environmental Shield’ Claim
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Murad, Inc. modify advertising for the company’s “Environmental Shield” products to avoid conveying the unsupported message that the Murad Rapid Age Spot and Pigment Lightening Serum product itself provides a protective barrier against environmental harm to the skin. -
1/30/2014 - NAD Refers Advertising Claims from Chicken of the Sea to Regulatory Agencies for Further Review
The National Advertising Division has referred to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and California regulatory agencies advertising claims made by Chicken of the Sea, Inc., for its Chicken of the Sea tuna products after the company declined to participate in proceeding before NAD. -
1/30/2014 - CARU Refers Advertising for ‘Grown Ups 2’ to MPAA for Review
The Children’s Advertising Review Unit referred advertising for “Grown Ups 2” – rated PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association of America – to the MPAA for review. -
1/30/2014 - NAD Refers Advertising for Brain Research Labs ‘Procera AVH’ to FTC for Further Review
The National Advertising Division has referred to the Federal Trade Commission advertising claims made by Brain Research Labs, for Procera AVH, following the company’s failure to abide by the terms of an NAD decision. -
1/22/2014 - NAD Recommends BP Discontinue Broadcast Demonstration that Disparages ExxonMobil’s ‘Mobil 1’ Oil; BP to Appeal
The National Advertising Division has recommended that BP Lubricants USA, Inc., the maker of Castrol EDGE motor oil, discontinue comparative advertising claims based on a “torture” test that pits BP’s product against ExxonMobil Corporation’s “Mobil 1” motor oil. -
1/22/2014 - NAD Recommends Zero Technologies Discontinue Demonstration for Z-Pitcher, Following Clorox Challenge; Zero to Appeal Adverse Finding
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Zero Technologies LLC discontinue the use of a side-by-side demonstration that compares its Zero Water Z-Pitcher to the Brita water filtration systems made by The Clorox Company. Zero Technologies has said it will appeal that adverse finding to the National Advertising Review Board. -

The National Advertising Division has recommended that Church & Dwight discontinue certain claims for Arm & Hammer Ultra Power 4x Concentrated Liquid Laundry Detergent and Arm & Hammer Sensitive Skin 4x Concentrated Liquid Laundry Detergent. -

The National Advertising Division has recommended that American Media Inc., publisher of Shape Magazine, clearly and conspicuously designate content as advertising when it promotes Shape-branded products.
