A five-member panel of the National Advertising Review Board (NARB) has determined that the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) can support challenged claims made in charitable solicitations. -

The National Advertising Division has recommended that HealthyLife Sciences, LLC, modify or discontinue certain claims for the company’s Healthe Trim dietary supplement. -
11/26/2013 - NAD Refers Advertising for Maxam’s PCA Supplement to FTC for Further Review
The National Advertising Division has referred advertising claims made by Maxam Nutraceuticals, LLC, for its PCA dietary supplement to the Federal Trade Commission for further review, after the company declined to participate in a review of its claims. -
11/21/2013 - NAD Recommends P&G Discontinue Certain Claims for ‘Olay Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System,’ Following L’Oreal Challenge
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Procter & Gamble Company discontinue certain claims made for the company’s Olay Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System, following a challenge by L’Oreal USA, Inc. -

The Online Interest-Based Advertising Accountability Program released three decisions resolving inquiries into whether an online interest-based advertising campaign for 23andMe, Inc. provided Transparency and Consumer Control as required under the Self-Regulatory Principles for Online Behavioral Advertising. -

Continuing its recent focus on website operators’ obligations under the Self-Regulatory Principles for Online Behavioral Advertising, today the Online Interest-Based Advertising Accountability Program released the results of formal inquiries into the practices of Scottrade, Inc. (Scottrade) and BMW of North America, LLC (BMW). -

The National Advertising Division has referred advertising by Allen Harim Foods to the Federal Trade Commission, following a compliance review of the advertiser’s claim that its “Nature’s Sensation” chickens were humanely raised. -
11/13/2013 - CARU Recommends Boys’ Life Magazine Modify Sweepstakes Advertising; BSA Agrees to Do So
The Children’s Advertising Review Unit has recommended that Boys’ Life Magazine, published by Boy Scouts of America, modify advertising for future sweepstakes to better disclose the odds of winning. BSA has agreed to do so.
