5/21/2018 - NAD Recommends T-Mobile Discontinue ‘Best Unlimited Network’ Claim; Advertiser to Appeal
The National Advertising Division has recommended that T-Mobile USA, Inc., discontinue its “Best Unlimited Network” advertising claims. T-Mobile said it will appeal NAD’s decision to the National Advertising Review Board. -
5/16/2018 - NAD Recommends Diversey Discontinue Certain Claims for Cryovac Resealable Storage Bags Following Challenge by S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc.
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Diversey, Inc., discontinue certain challenged advertising claims for the company’s Cryovac reusable storage bags. -
5/15/2018 - NAD Recommends Colgate-Palmolive Discontinue ‘100%’ Grease Removal Claim for Ajax Ultra after P&G Challenge, but Won’t Recommend Product Name Change
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Colgate-Palmolive Company discontinue claims that Ajax Ultra Dish Liquid provides “100% Grease Removal.” -
5/09/2018 - NAD Recommends Carma Laboratories Discontinue Certain Challenged Claims for Carmex Cold Sore Treatment
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Carma Laboratories, Inc., discontinue certain challenged advertising claims for the company’s Carmex Cold Sore Treatment, including claims that the product works “immediately,” treats symptoms on contact or heals cold sores. -
5/09/2018 - CARU Recommends Anki Make Clear to Children that Racing Game Requires Smart Device for Play
The Children’s Advertising Review Unit (CARU) has recommended that Anki add audio disclosure to future broadcast advertising for the company’s “Anki Overdrive: Fast and Furious Edition,” a mobile application-based racing game, to assure children understand that play with the race track and cars requires that users download the app to an iOS or Android device. -
5/08/2018 - NAD Recommends Doskocil Discontinue Certain Anti-Microbial Claims for Petmate Cat Litter Pans, Advertiser to Appeal
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Doskocil Manufacturing Company, Inc., doing business as Petmate, discontinue challenged advertising claims for the company’s Petmate Cat Litter Pans, including claims that the pans have “built-in antimicrobial protection.” The advertiser said it would appeal NAD’s adverse findings to the National Advertising Review Board (NARB). -
4/27/2018 - NAD Finds Line Claim in Ads for Perdue’s Organic Chicken Brand, Recommends Advertiser Modify, Discontinue Broadcast, YouTube Spots; Perdue to Appeal
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Perdue Farms, Inc., modify or discontinue broadcast and YouTube ads for the company’s Harvestland Organic sub-brand, following its finding that the advertising at issue reasonably conveyed the message that all Perdue chickens are raised using organic farming methods. -
4/27/2018 - NAD Recommends SharkNinja Discontinue ‘Better/Best Overall’ Bare Floor Cleaning Claims for Shark ‘Powered Lift-Away’ Vacuum Following Dyson Challenge
The National Advertising Division has recommended that SharkNinja LLC discontinue claims that the company’s Powered Lift-Away Speed vacuum offers best or better overall bare floor cleaning, following NAD’s finding that SharkNinja’s testing was not a good fit for the challenged claim. -
4/26/2018 - CARU Recommends Kudos Modify Privacy Practices to Better Protect Children’s Privacy, Company Agrees to Do So
The Children’s Advertising Review Unit (CARU) has recommended that Kudos & Co., modify its privacy practices to bring them into compliance with CARU’s Self-Regulatory Program for Children’s Advertising – including CARU’s privacy guidelines – and the federal Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
