The National Advertising Division has recommended that LG Electronics USA, Inc. modify or discontinue certain claims made in website, print and point-of-purchase advertising for LG’s Super UHD and OLED television, including claims that competitor Samsung Electronics America, Inc., created the product name “Samsung QLED” to “confuse consumers.” -
4/02/2020 - NAD Recommends MillerCoors Modify Certain Claims For “Taste Protector” Caps, Lids
The National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus has recommended that MillerCoors modify certain claims for its “Taste Protector” Caps and Lids. NAD also determined that certain claims were puffery and did not require substantiation. -
4/02/2020 - NAD Recommends Kaplan PMBR Modify, Discontinue Certain Claims for Bar Exam Prep Test; Finds Support for Summer Pass Rate Claim
The National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus has recommended that Kaplan Inc., provider of the Kaplan PMBR Bar Exam Preparation supplemental and full service bar review course, modify or discontinue certain claims for the bar review course. -

The National Advertising Division has recommended that JustFab, Inc., modify advertising for the “VIP offers” made for its “Fabletics” activewear to clearly and conspicuously disclose the material terms and limitations of the advertiser’s VIP membership program. -
4/02/2020 - NAD Recommends JJVC Discontinue ‘Stuck to My Eye’ Claim, but Finds Advertiser Can Support Certain Claims in Contact Lens Advertising
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc. discontinue a comparative advertising claim that was based on study participants’ answers to a leading survey question. NAD determined, however, that the advertiser could support certain other claims made in advertising to eye-care professionals. -
4/02/2020 - NAD Recommends J-B Weld Company Discontinue Certain “Made in USA” Claims; Advertiser to Appeal
The National Advertising Division has recommended that J-B Weld Company, LLC discontinue advertising claims made on certain product packaging and in online advertisements that its products are “Made in USA” and “they have always been made in the USA.” The claims were challenged by Illinois Tool Works Inc., maker of competing epoxy and adhesive products.

The National Advertising Division has recommended that iSatori, Inc., discontinue certain claims for the company’s Energize dietary supplement, including claims of “8-Hour Efficacy Shown in Clinical Testing.” NAD determined, however, that the advertiser could support certain claims. -

The National Advertising Division has recommended that Interceuticals, Inc., discontinue a wide range of advertising claims for the company’s BetterWOMAN dietary supplement, which is promoted as improving urinary control. -
4/02/2020 - NAD Recommends Inspired Nutrition Discontinue All Challenged Claims for ‘Ultimate Bio-Fibrin’ Supplement
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Inspired Nutrition, LLC, discontinue all challenged claims for the company’s “Ultimate Bio-Fibrin” Dietary Supplement, including claims that the product offers “new hope for conquering chronic diseases like MRSA staph, Lyme disease, HIV, Hepatitis, Shingles, Herpes.” -
4/02/2020 - NAD Recommends Hyperion Management Discontinue All Challenged Claims ‘Garcinia Cambogia Formula,’ Better Qualify Guarantee for ‘SaferColon’
The National Advertising Division has recommended Hyperion Management, LLC, which markets the dietary supplements “Garcinia Cambogia Formula” and “SaferColon,” discontinue all challenged claims for the cambogia product and better disclose limitations the guarantee offered with “SaferColon.” -
4/02/2020 - NAD Recommends Housewares America Modify, Discontinue Certain Claims For Debby Meyer Greenbags; Company To Appeal
The National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus has recommended that Housewares America, Inc., modify or discontinue certain claims for Debby Meyer GreenBags. The company has said it will appeal certain findings of the NAD to the National Advertising Review Board (NARB), the appellate body of the advertising industry’s system of self-regulation. -
4/02/2020 - NAD Recommends HFL Solutions Discontinue Challenged Health, Performance Claims for ‘Blood Sugar Optimizer’ Supplement
The National Advertising Division has recommended that that HFL Solutions, Inc., discontinue a wide range of claims made in internet advertising for the company’s Blood Sugar Optimizer dietary supplement. NAD did determine that the company could support claims that its product is “all natural” and “doctor formulated.” -
4/02/2020 - NAD Recommends Hershey Modify Packaging, Broadcast Advertising for Brookside Chocolate Candies, Following Challenge by Mars
The National Advertising Division has recommended that The Hershey Company modify advertising for the company’s Brookside Chocolate-Covered Candies to assure that consumers understand the products are made with fruit flavors, rather than pieces of fruit. The advertising claims at issue, made on product packaging and in television advertising, were challenged by Mars Incorporated, a competing maker of chocolate products. -

4/02/2020 - NAD Recommends Healthy Directions Discontinue Certain Claims at Issue for ‘Joint Advantage Gold’ Supplement
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Healthy Directions, LLC, discontinue certain advertising claims for the company’s Joint Advantage Gold dietary supplement, including claims that the product eases pain in seven days and is made with ingredients traditionally used by the Aboriginal people of Australia. The company said it will appeal NAD’s findings to the National Advertising Review Board. -

4/02/2020 - NAD Recommends Mega-T Discontinue ‘Burns Fat’ Claim; Company Voluntarily Discontinues Certain Other Claims Challenged by CRN
Mega-T, LLC, the maker of “Mega-T Green Tea Fat Burning Supplements,” has said it will permanently discontinue certain advertising claims challenged by the Council for Responsible Nutrition and comply with the recommendations of the National Advertising Division. -
4/02/2020 - NAD Recommends Guthy-Renker Discontinue Certain Performance Claims for Crepe Erase, Finds Certain Claims Supported; Advertiser to Appeal
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Guthy-Renker discontinue or modify certain express and implied performance claims in video and internet advertising for its Crepe Erase Anti-Aging Body Care Treatment System. The advertiser has said it will appeal part of NAD’s findings to the National Advertising Review Board. Guthy-Renker’s Crepe Erase Anti-Aging Body Care Treatment System consists of two products intended to be used sequentially: (1) Exfoliating Body Polish; and (2) Intensive Body Repair Treatment. -

4/02/2020 - NAD Recommends Mars Petcare Discontinue Certain Claims for ‘Dentastix’ Following Purina
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Mars Petcare US discontinue certain express and implied claims made for the company’s Pedigree Dentastix dog chews. The claims at issue, made in print, Internet and social media advertising and on product packaging, were challenged by Nestle Purina Petcare Company, a competing maker of pet products.
