New York, NY – July 28, 2023 – In a challenge brought by AT&T Services, the National Advertising Division (NAD) recommended that Altice USA modify its advertising to avoid conveying the message that it has faster download speeds than AT&T in markets where Optimum Internet competes with AT&T.

7/27/2023 - NAD Finds Certain T-Mobile Device Financing Claims Supported; T-Mobile Appeals Recommendations to Discontinue or Modify Others
New York, NY – July 27, 2023 – In a challenge brought by AT&T Services, the National Advertising Division (NAD) determined that certain claims made by T-Mobile in its “Phone Freedom” advertising campaign were supported, but recommended that T-Mobile discontinue other comparative claims.

7/26/2023 - National Advertising Division Finds Dow Jones “Cancel Anytime” Claim for Wall Street Journal Subscription Supported
New York, NY – July 26, 2023 – The National Advertising Division (NAD) determined that Dow Jones & Company, Inc. supported its claim of “cancel anytime” relating to the methods by which consumers can cancel their subscription to The Wall Street Journal.

7/24/2023 - NAD Finds Certain Carbohydrate Claims for Olé Mexican Foods Tortillas Supported; Recommends Discontinuation of Other Claims
New York, NY – July 24, 2023 – The National Advertising Division (NAD) determined that Olé Mexican Foods, Inc. provided a reasonable basis for certain carbohydrate-related claims on its product packaging and website for La Banderita and Xtreme Wellness tortillas, but recommended Olé discontinue "carb lean" and "0 net carbs" claims.

7/12/2023 - NAD Finds Where Food Comes From CARE Certified Program Animal Welfare Claim Supported through Use of CARE Certified Seal on Beef and Pork Labels
New York, NY – July 12, 2023 – The National Advertising Division (NAD) determined that Where Food Comes From (WFCF) provided a reasonable basis for the implied animal welfare claim communicated through its “CARE Certified” Encircled Heart Seal on beef and pork labels and in advertising its certification for these products.

7/05/2023 - National Advertising Division Recommends Tiburon Insurance Services Discontinue or Modify Certain Advertising Claims for The Medicare Helpline
New York, NY – July 5, 2023 – The National Advertising Division (NAD) recommended that Tiburon Insurance Services modify or discontinue certain savings and benefits claims for The Medicare Helpline, the company’s Medicare Advantage offering. Through its routine monitoring program, NAD challenged claims regarding Medicare Advantage plans offered by Tiburon to consumers.

6/29/2023 - Abbott Nutrition Voluntarily Discontinues “#1 Infant Formula” Claim for Similac in National Advertising Division Fast-Track SWIFT Case
New York, NY – June 29, 2023 – The National Advertising Division (NAD) has closed a Fast-Track SWIFT challenge initiated by Mead Johnson & Company, LLC. Fast-Track SWIFT is an expedited challenge process designed for single-issue advertising cases brought to NAD.

6/29/2023 - Dotdash Meredith Removes InStyle Article for Biossance Eye Cream Following National Advertising Division Inquiry
New York, NY – June 29, 2023 – The National Advertising Division (NAD) inquired about a claim made in the InStyle article “Biossance Squalane & Marine Algae Cream.” Dotdash Meredith stated that it has permanently removed the article from the InStyle website and all of its other distribution channels “for business reasons independent of the NAD inquiry.”

New York, NY – June 27, 2023 – The National Advertising Division (NAD) determined that Haleon provided a reasonable basis for the challenged claims that its Voltaren Arthritis Pain Relief Gel is #1 Doctor Recommended.

6/26/2023 - National Advertising Division Finds Simply Gum’s “Made With Chicle,” and “Natural” Claims Supported; Recommends Others be Modified or Discontinued
New York, NY – June 26, 2023 – The National Advertising Division (NAD) of BBB National Programs determined that Simply Gum, Inc. provided a reasonable basis for claims that its Simply Gum brand chewing gum is “made with chicle” and “natural” and concluded that, in context, Simply Gum’s “simpler better” claim was puffery. However, NAD recommended that the advertiser discontinue certain claims.
