11/08/2022 - National Advertising Division Recommends P&G Discontinue or Modify Comparative Advertising Commercials for Puffs Ultra Soft Tissues vs. Kleenex
New York, NY – November 8, 2022 – Acting on a challenge brought by Kimberly-Clark Corporation, the National Advertising Division (NAD) recommended that The Procter & Gamble Company (P&G) discontinue two commercials for Puffs Ultra Soft Tissues or modify them to avoid conveying a misleading message about the softness, comfort, or safety of Kleenex tissues and that Puff’s tissues have visible quilt-like puffing.

11/07/2022 - National Advertising Division Recommends Comcast Modify or Discontinue Xfinity Mobile vs. T-Mobile Comparative Savings Claims
New York, NY – November 7, 2022 – The National Advertising Division (NAD) analyzed comparative savings claims made by Comcast Cable about its Xfinity Mobile Wireless service plan. NAD recommended that Comcast either discontinue a claim that Xfinity Mobile is 30% less than T-Mobile or modify the advertising to clearly and conspicuously disclose the T-Mobile plan that is the basis of comparison and the material differences between the plans.

11/02/2022 - National Advertising Division Recommends Accredited Debt Relief Discontinue Quantified Performance Claims About Debt Relief and the Format of Its Website
New York, NY – November 2, 2022 – The National Advertising Division (NAD) recommended Accredited Debt Relief discontinue claims that convey strong unqualified messages regarding the typical results experienced by users of the Accredited Debt relief program. NAD also recommended that S3 Marketing discontinue the format of its rankings website.

10/26/2022 - National Advertising Division Finds “Gig Speeds Everywhere” Claim for Cox Gigablast Internet Supported; Recommends Others be Modified or Discontinued
New York, NY – October 26, 2022 – Acting on a challenge by AT&T, the National Advertising Division (NAD) determined that Cox Communications provided a reasonable basis for the express claim that Cox can deliver “gig speeds everywhere” and the implied claim that Cox can provide gig speeds to all of its customers and AT&T cannot provide gig speeds (or faster) to all of its customers. NAD recommended Cox modify other claims.

10/19/2022 - In Reopened Proceeding, National Advertising Division Finds “#1 Dermatologist Recommended Skincare Brand” Claim for L’Oréal’s CeraVe Now Supported
New York, NY – October 19, 2022 – In a reopened case arising from the petition of a prior decision, the National Advertising Division (NAD) of BBB National Programs determined that L’Oréal USA, Inc. has now provided a reasonable basis for its claim that CeraVe is the “#1 dermatologist recommended skincare brand.”

New York, NY – October 13, 2022 – In a BBB National Programs National Advertising Division (NAD) challenge, brought as part of NAD’s routine monitoring of national advertising for truth and transparency, the advertiser Once Upon a Farm voluntarily discontinued advertising claims regarding its Advanced Nutrition Baby Fruit & Veggies Blend.

10/12/2022 - National Advertising Division Finds Certain WhatsApp Express Claims Supported; WhatsApp Appeals NAD Recommendation to Discontinue or Modify Unsupported Claims
New York, NY – October 12, 2022 – The National Advertising Division (NAD) of BBB National Programs determined that WhatsApp, LLC provided a reasonable basis for express claims for its WhatsApp messaging service analogizing SMS text messages to “open mail” and that WhatsApp did not overstate the vulnerability of SMS text messages compared to end-to-end encrypted messaging.

9/28/2022 - NAD Finds Certain Claims Comparing Comcast Xfinity Internet Speed to AT&T Supported; Recommends Others be Modified or Discontinued
New York, NY – September 28, 2022 – The National Advertising Division (NAD) determined that Comcast Cable Communications, LLC provided a reasonable basis for certain internet speed claims, however, NAD recommended that Comcast modify its “Everyone Likes to Go Fast” radio commercial and discontinue other speed-related claims.

9/15/2022 - NAD Recommends Modification of Disclosures Used in Connection with Comcast Xfinity Mobile vs. Verizon 5G Comparative Savings Claims
New York, NY – September 15, 2022 – The National Advertising Division (NAD) determined that comparative savings claims made by Comcast Cable Communications, LLC about its Xfinity Mobile 5G service plan would not be misleading when compared with the cheapest two Ultra Wideband 5G plans by Verizon Communications, Inc., provided that disclosures were adequate.

9/14/2022 - National Advertising Division Recommends CreditAssociates Discontinue “America’s #1 Debt Relief Company” Claim and Certain Consumer Testimonials
New York, NY – September 14, 2022 – The National Advertising Division (NAD) recommended that CreditAssociates, LLC discontinue the claim “America’s #1 Debt Relief Company,” “4.9 out of 5 based on 8,641 reviews – Trustpilot,” and savings claims that appeared in testimonials featured on the company’s website touting savings of between $11,600 and $40,000 and customers being debt-free within two to three years.
