7/28/2016 - NAD Examines Ratings Claims for ‘MyPurMist Handheld Steam Inhaler,’ Recommends Vapore Discontinue ‘More 5-Star Reviews’ Claim
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Vapore, LLC, maker of the “MyPurMist Handheld Steam Inhaler,” discontinue the express claim that its product has more “5-star reviews than any other steam inhaler,” as well as consumer testimonials made in broadcast and Internet advertising. -
7/28/2016 - NAD Refers Advertising Claims made by Shredlage, CLAAS to FTC for Further Review After Farm Equipment Companies Decline to Participate in NAD Inquiry
The National Advertising Division has referred advertising claims made Shredlage, LLC and CLAAS of America to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for further review, after the companies declined to participate in a review of advertising claims made for their corn kernel processing equipment. The claims at issue were challenged by Deere & Company, a competing maker of agricultural equipment. -
7/27/2016 - NAD Finds P&G can Support Superior Line Claim For Oral-B Toothbrushes, Following Challenge by Philips Oral Healthcare
The National Advertising Division has determined that the Procter & Gamble Company, maker of Oral-B electric toothbrushes, can support advertising claims challenged by competitor Philips Oral Healthcare, LLC. -
7/27/2016 - NAD Recommends Vestagen Discontinue Claims that Company’s ‘VESTEX’ Hospital Scrubs Protect Patients, Medical Personnel from Dangerous Contaminants; Finds Company can Support Certain Medical Device Claims
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Vestagen Protective Technologies, Inc., discontinue certain advertising claims for the company’s Vestex fabric, including claims that garments made with Vestex fabric protect healthcare workers and their patients from pathogens, dangerous contaminants and healthcare-associated infections. -
7/27/2016 - NAD Recommends Philips Oral Healthcare Discontinue Two Commercials Challenged by P&G
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Philips Oral Healthcare, LLC, discontinue two broadcast commercials for the company’s Sonicare brand electric toothbrushes, following a challenge from the Procter & Gamble Company, maker of Oral-B electric toothbrushes. -
7/22/2016 - NAD Recommends Prevention Pharmaceuticals Discontinue Certain Claims for Company’s ‘Omax3 Ultra Pure’ Supplements; Finds Company Can Support Certain Qualified Claims
The National Advertising Division has determined that Prevention Pharmaceuticals, Inc., can support certain qualified claims for the company’s Omax3 Ultra Pure Dietary Supplements. NAD has also recommended the company discontinue a wide range of claims, including market superiority purity, potency and compositional claims. -
7/19/2016 - NAD Reviews Claims for Bevel Single-Blade Razors; Finds Advertiser Can Support Certain Modified Claims, but Recommends It Discontinue ‘Proven’ Claim
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Walker & Company Brands, maker of the Bevel Shaving System, modify or discontinue certain advertising claims for the company’s single-blade razors. NAD determined, however, that the company could support certain modified claims, including the claim that its product, with regular use, may “help” improve pseudofolliculitis barbae (PFB), an uncomfortable, and potentially serious side-effect of shaving often experienced by people of color. -
7/13/2016 - NAD Recommends MyGait Modify, Discontinue Certain Claims for Computer Promoted to Senior Citizens to Better Disclose Benefits Tied to Service Plan
The National Advertising Division has recommended MyGait, LLC, discontinue certain claims for the company’s for its MyGait Elite II Computer, but found the company could support its “designed for seniors” claims. -
6/13/2016 - NAD Recommends Applegate Discontinue Certain Claims for Cellulose Insulation; Finds Company can Support Certain Claims
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Applegate Insulation discontinue certain claims for the company’s cellulose insulation products, but found the company could support its “R-value per inch” claims. -
6/07/2016 - NAD Recommends P&G Discontinue Certain Claims for Charmin ‘Ultra’ Products Following Kimberly-Clark Challenge; Can Support Certain Claims
The National Advertising Division has determined that The Procter & Gamble Company can support claims that consumers of its Charmin Ultra Strong and Charmin Ultra Soft products may “Use Up To 4x Less.”
