8/06/2013 - BPI Discontinues Certain Claims for Three Products, Following NAD Inquiry
BPI Sports, LLC, has informed the National Advertising Division that it has discontinued certain advertising claims for three products. The claims at issue were challenged by the Council for Responsible Nutrition. -
8/01/2013 - NAD Recommends Campbell Modify, Discontinue Prego Taste-Test Ads Following Challenge by Ragu Maker Unilever
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Campbell Soup Company modify or discontinue certain advertising claims for its Prego traditional Pasta Sauce following a challenge from Unilever United States, Inc., the maker of the Ragu line of pasta sauces. -
8/01/2013 - NAD Refers Advertising by Oracle to FTC After Company Repeatedly Fails to Comply with NAD Recommendations
The National Advertising Division has referred advertising claims made by Oracle Corporation to the Federal Trade Commission, following NAD’s determination that the company has not made a good faith effort to comply with the recommendations of previous NAD decisions. -
7/30/2013 - NAD Determines Tropicana Ad is Puffery Following Campbell Challenge
The National Advertising Division has determined that the claim “world’s best fruit and vegetable juice,” included in broadcast advertising for Tropicana Products, Inc., is puffery. The claim was challenged by Campbell Soup Company, maker of V8 V-Fusion fruit/vegetable juice.

7/25/2013 - NAD Finds Starbucks Can Support Certain Claims for Verismo Single-Serve Coffee System, Recommends Company Discontinue Certain Claims
The National Advertising Division determined that evidence offered by Starbucks Coffee Company supported certain advertising claims made for Starbuck’s Verismo single-serve coffee system. -
7/25/2013 - NAD Recommends Nordic US Discontinue Certain Claims for ‘Hair Volume’
The National Advertising Division has recommended that New Nordic US, Inc. modify or discontinue claims for the company’s Hair Volume dietary supplement, including claims that suggest use of the product could reverse balding in women. -
7/25/2013 - NAD Finds Hi-Tech Can Support Certain Pain-Relief Claims for Zostrix, Advertiser Discontinue ‘Clinically Proven,’ ‘Doctor Recommended’ Claims
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Hi-Tech Pharmacal Co., Inc., discontinue certain advertising claims for the company’s Zostrix Hot & Cold Therapy System and Zostrix Foot Pain Relief Cream products, including two “clinically proven” claims and a “Doctor Recommended” claim. -
7/09/2013 - NAD Recommends Refers Advertising for Fiore ‘Antifungal Nail Lacquer’ to FTC for Further Review
The National Advertising Division has referred to the Federal Trade Commission advertising claims made Fiore RX, LLC, for its “Antifungal Nail Lacquer” after the company failed to respond to an NAD inquiry. -
7/09/2013 - NAD Recommends GAT Modify, Discontinue Claims at Issue for NITRAFLEX Supplement
The National Advertising Division recommended that GAT (German-American Technologies) modify or discontinue certain advertising claims made for the company’s “NITRAFLEX Hyperemia & Testosterone Enhancing PWD” dietary supplement.
