The National Advertising Division has recommended that Vital g-NETICS discontinue certain claims for the company’s claims for the company’s FlexSure Restorative Joint Health dietary supplement, including claims the product is “clinically proven” to be effective. -
1/13/2016 - Following NAD Inquiry, BrainFire Says it Will Discontinue Claims for Cognitive Supplement
BrainFire, maker of a dietary supplement promoted as a product designed to improve “all areas of cognitive growth,” said it will voluntarily and permanently discontinue advertising claims for its BrainFire supplement identified in a National Advertising Division inquiry. -
1/04/2016 - NAD Finds Kraft Heinz can Support Certain Claims for Salad Dressings, Recommends Advertiser Discontinue Certain Broadcast Ads
The National Advertising Division has determined that Kraft Heinz can support challenged claims that its Ranch, Caesar, and Italian salad dressings do not contain artificial flavors. NAD has recommended, however, that the company discontinue two television commercials that convey an implied “artificial colors” message about competing products. -
12/21/2015 - NAD Refers ‘Dutch Glow’ Maker SAS Group to FTC after Advertiser Fails to Comply with NAD Decision
The National Advertising Division has referred advertising by SAS Group, Inc., the maker of Dutch Glow Amish Wood Milk Furniture Cleaner & Polish, to the Federal Trade Commission for further review after finding that the advertiser did not make a bona fide effort to comply with an earlier NAD decision. -
12/21/2015 - NAD Reviews Claims for Neuracel; Reminds Advertisers that They are Responsible for Claims Appearing at Third-Party Sites
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Neuracel LLC, discontinue claims and testimonials for Neuracel Nerve Pain Relief that state or suggest the product eliminates nerve pain and work to assure that such claims do not appear on third-party websites. -
12/17/2015 - NAD Finds Saputo Can Support Challenged Claims for String Cheese Products
The National Advertising Division has determined that Saputo Cheese, USA, Inc., maker of string cheese products, can support the advertising claims challenged by competitor Lactalis American Group. -
12/17/2015 - CARU Recommends Kraft Modify TV Ad that Doesn’t Adequately Depict Adult Supervision; Company Agrees to Do So
The Children’s Advertising Review Unit of the Council of Better Business Bureaus (CARU) has recommended that Kraft Food Group, Inc., modify broadcast advertising for the company’s “Capri Sun Roarin’ Waters” beverage that doesn’t depict adult supervision of children in a swimming pool. -
12/09/2015 - NAD Recommends DIRECTV Modify, Discontinue 4K Claims, Pricing Claim, Wireless Claim; Advertiser to Appeal Decision to NARB
The National Advertising Division has recommended that DIRECTV, Inc. modify or discontinue certain advertising claims challenged by Charter Communications, Inc., including pricing claims, wireless claims and claims that suggest that all of DIRECTV’s programming is available via 4K technology. -
12/08/2015 - NAD Recommends Brock Beauty Discontinue Certain Claims for ‘Hairfinity’ Dietary Supplement
The National Advertising Division has recommended that Brock Beauty, Inc., discontinue certain advertising claims for its Hairfinity Hair Vitamin dietary supplement, including claims that the product “promote[s] faster growing, longer, thicker, stronger hair.”
