The National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus has recommended that Dispoz-O, the maker of “Enviroware” plastic tableware, discontinue certain environmental claims for the products. NAD determined that the advertiser did provide reasonable support for certain claims. -

The Children’s Advertising Review Unit of the Council of Better Business Bureaus has determined that television advertising for the Power Wheels Ford F-150 Truck, marketed by Fisher Price, adequately depicts the need for adult supervision. -

The Children’s Advertising Review Unit of the Council of Better Business Bureaus, Inc., has recommended that Fisher-Price modify advertising to assure that broadcast advertising for “Power Wheels Barbie Jammin’ Jeep Wrangler” adequately depicts adult supervision. -

The National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus has recommended that Royal Purple, Ltd., modify or discontinue certain advertising claims for it’s synthetic motor oil. -

The National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus has recommended that Nature’s Healthy Supplements modify or discontinue certain advertising claims for its “Best Prostate” Dietary Supplement. -
3/30/2009 - CARU Reviews Jonas Brother Fan Site, Recommends Operator Implement Privacy Protections
The Children’s Advertising Review Unit (CARU) of the Council of Better Business Bureaus, Inc., has recommended that Ultrastar Entertainment, the operator of the Website www.jonasbrothersfanclub.com, take steps to assure the site operates in compliance with CARU’s self-regulatory guidelines for children’s advertising and the federal Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA.) -

The National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus has determined that Novartis Consumer Health, Inc. provided adequate substantiation for advertising claims made for its Benefiber dietary fiber supplement. -
3/23/2009 - CARU Recommends Skechers, Ecko Modify Future Advertising For ‘Reds’ Shoes
The Children’s Advertising Review Unit of the Council of Better Business Bureaus has recommended that Skechers, the maker of Red Phrans-Phavorite Sneakers, and Marc Ecko Enterprises, which markets the product, modify or discontinue advertising that suggests the shoes are illuminated. The advertisers have said they will appeal CARU’s determination to the National Advertising Review Board.
