    The National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus has recommended that Nutrition 21, Inc., the marketer of Core4Life Advanced Memory Formula (AMF), modify or discontinue certain advertising claims.
  • 11/25/2008 - NAD Examines Advertising for Verizon’s Fios Following Cablevision Challenge

    The National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus has recommended that Verizon Services Corporation modify or discontinue certain advertising claims made for the company’s FiOS service, following a challenge by CSC Holdings, Inc., the parent company of Cablevision. NAD did find that certain superior sound and picture quality claims made by Verizon were substantiated.
  • 11/20/2008 - NAD Examines Advertising for Castrol GTX

    The National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus has recommended that BP America, Inc., modify or discontinue certain advertising claims for the company’s Castrol GTX motor oil. BP America has indicated it will appeal NAD’s finding to the National Advertising Review Board.
  • 11/17/2008 - CARU Recommends J&J Discontinue Certain Advertising During Children’s Programming

    The Children’s Advertising Review Unit of the Council of Better Business Bureaus, Inc., has recommended Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies discontinue advertising for Clean & Clear Day Soft Oil-Free Moisturizer during children’s television programming hours.

    Advertising claims made in the context of viral videos produced to build interest in a product are subject to the same standards of truth and accuracy as advertisements published in traditional media, The National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus said today.
  • 11/14/2008 - NAD Examines Advertising for Dermasilk

    The National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus has recommended that BioTech Corporation International, which markets the DermaSilk Anti-Wrinkle dietary supplement, modify or discontinue certain claims for the product.


  • 11/14/2008 - NAD Refers Advertising for Captain D’s to Government Agencies for Further Review

    The National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus referred advertising by Captain D’s, LLC, to the appropriate government agencies for further review, after Captain D’s declined to participate in an NAD review.
  • 11/14/2008 - CARU Recommends Build A Bear Workshop Modify Future Advertising to Clarify Pricing

    The Children’s Advertising Review Unit of the Council of Better Business Bureaus, Inc., has recommended Build-A-Bear Workshop (BABW)  modify or discontinue price advertising claims that may confuse child consumers.

    The National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus has recommended NeatReceipts, Inc., modify Internet advertising for the company’s Neat Business Cards Reader.
  • 11/05/2008 - Verizon, Sprint Participate in NAD Forum

    The National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus has recommended that Verizon Services Corp. modify or discontinue certain broadcast advertising claims for the company’s push-to-talk service.
