  • 9/03/2008 - NAD Examines Advertising For Petzlife’s Oral Care Product For Cats, Dogs

    The National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus has recommended that Petzlife Inc. discontinue a wide range of health claims and testimonials for the company’s “PetzLife Oral Care Spray & Gel.”  The company has said it will attempt to comply with the decision as quickly as possible.  
  • 8/26/2008 - CARU Finds Kellogg Can Adequately Support Certain Claims Made For ‘Frosted Flakes Gold’

    The Children’s Advertising Review Unit (CARU) of the Council of Better Business Bureaus, Inc., has determined that Kellogg Company provided a reasonable basis for express and implied “long-lasting energy” claims made for the company’s “Frosted Flakes Gold” cereal product.

    The Children’s Advertising Review Unit (CARU) of the Council of Better Business Bureaus, Inc., has recommended that Sakura Color Products of America, Inc., operator of the Website www.sakuraofamerica.com, modify the site to assure it is in compliance with CARU’s self-regulatory guidelines for children’s advertising or the federal Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA.)
  • 8/26/2008 - CARU Refers Advertising For Warner Bros. ‘Sisterhood’ To MPAA For Further Review

    The Children’s Advertising Review Unit (CARU) of the Council of Better Business Bureaus, Inc., has referred television advertising for the Warner Bros. film “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2” to the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) for further review.
  • 8/19/2008 - Eastman Kodak, Canon Participate In NAD Forum

    The National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus has determined that Eastman Kodak Company, the maker of the Kodak EasyShare line of inkjet printers, provided reasonable support for the advertising claim “Save up to 50% on Everything You Print.”
  • 8/14/2008 - NAD Examines Advertising From Ideavillage For ‘SLIMShots’ Liquid Appetite Controller

    The National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus has determined that IdeaVillage Products Corp. provided adequate substantiation for its advertising claims made for “SLIMShots Liquid Appetite Controller,” but recommended that the advertiser discontinue stating “every day.”
  • 8/14/2008 - Blue Buffalo, Hill’s Participate In NAD Forum

    The National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus has recommended that Blue Buffalo modify or discontinue certain advertising claims for the company’s BLUE pet food. However, NAD determined that the claim “feed your pet like you feed your family,” in the proper context, is supported by the evidence in the record.

    The National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus has determined that Wendy’s International, Inc., provided sufficient evidence to support express and product description claims made in the context of the company’s “Always Fresh, Never Frozen” advertising campaign.

    The Children’s Advertising Review Unit (CARU) of the Council of Better Business Bureaus, Inc., has recommended that that Subway Franchisee Advertising Fund Trust (SFAFT), operator of the Website www.subwayfreshbuzz.com, modify the site to assure it is in compliance with CARU’s self-regulatory guidelines for children’s advertising and the federal Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA.) The operator has agreed to do so.

    The National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus has recommended that Dr. Franks, which manufactures a wide range of homeopathic remedies, modify or discontinue certain advertising claims for “Dr. Frank’s Joint Pain Relief for Dogs and Cats.”
