  • 8/06/2008 - CARU Refers Advertising From TRIOPS, INC. To FTC For Review

    The Children’s Advertising Review Unit (CARU) of the Council of Better Business Bureaus, Inc., has referred advertising for the Triassic Triops kit, marketed by Triops, Inc., to the Federal Trade Commission.  Advertising for the Triops Kit came to the attention of CARU, the children’s advertising industry’s self-regulatory forum, through CARU’s ongoing monitoring. 
  • 8/05/2008 - CARU Refers Advertising For Universal Pictures’ ‘The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor’ To MPAA For Further Review

    The Children’s Advertising Review Unit (CARU) of the Council of Better Business Bureaus, Inc., has referred television advertising for the Universal Pictures Marketing film “The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor” to the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) for further review.
  • 8/05/2008 - CARU Refers Advertising For 20th Century Fox’s ‘The Rocker’ To MPAA For Further Review

    The Children’s Advertising Review Unit (CARU) of the Council of Better Business Bureaus, Inc., has referred television advertising for the 20th Century Fox’s film “The Rocker” to the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) for further review.

    The Children’s Advertising Review Unit (CARU) of the Council of Better Business Bureaus, Inc., has recommended that The Upper Deck Company, which operates the Website www.kids.upperdeck.com, modify advertising for the Website’s  rewards program. The company has agreed to do so.

    The National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus has recommended that Vital Pharmaceuticals, which markets the energy drink “Redline Princess,” modify or discontinue certain advertising claims for the product.

    The Children’s Advertising Review Unit (CARU) of the Council of Better Business Bureaus, Inc., has recommended that The Dannon Company Inc., the operator of the www.danimals.com Website, modify advertising for its “High School Musical 2 Sweepstakes” to fully disclose the free means of entry. 
  • 8/28/2007 - Procter & Gamble Pet Care, Hill’s Pet Nutrition Participate In NAD Forum

    The National Advertising Division (NAD) of the Council of Better Business Bureaus has recommended that Procter & Gamble Pet Care, maker of Iams brand pet food, modify a “veterinarian recommended” claim that has appeared in broadcast, print and Internet advertising.

    The National Advertising Division (NAD) of the Council of Better Business Bureaus has referred advertising for Oreganol P73, a product marketed by North American Herb & Spice, to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for review.
  • 8/16/2007 - NAD Examines Advertising Claims For Hershey ‘Special Dark’ Chocolate

    The National Advertising Division (NAD) of the Council of Better Business Bureaus has determined that advertising claims for “Special Dark Chocolate”, manufactured and sold by The Hershey Company, are substantiated by competent and reliable scientific evidence.
  • 8/15/2007 - NAD Examines Advertising For L’Oreal USA’s Garnier Nutritioniste Ultra LifT, Skin Renew

    The National Advertising Division (NAD) of the Council of Better Business Bureaus has recommended that L’Oreal USA modify or discontinue certain claims made for the company’s Ultra Lift skin-care product, though it found support for certain ingredient claims. NAD found reasonable support for certain claims made for L’Oreal Skin Renew, but recommended a claim relating to the benefits of lycopene in the product be modified or discontinued.
