8/21/2013 - CARU Recommends PharmaCare Refrain from Advertising ‘Kids Smart’ Vitamins in Child-Directed Programming; Company Agrees to Do So
The Children’s Advertising Review Unit has recommended that PharmaCare US., Inc., the maker of Kids Smart Hi DHA-Omega3 Fish Oil capsules, discontinue advertising the product in programming directed to children. -
8/16/2013 - CARU Recommends Scholastic Modify Website; Company Does So
The Children’s Advertising Review Unit has recommended that the Scholastic Inc., administrator of the website scholastic.com/superanimalgenius, modify the site to assure that advertising for products labeled “keep out of the reach of children” does not appear on child-directed areas of the site. The company has done so. -

The Children’s Advertising Review Unit has recommended Link Snacks, Inc., operator of the website, www.jacklinks.com, modify the site to better protect children’s privacy. -
6/28/2013 - CARU Recommends KEE Action Sports Modify Broadcast Advertising to Better Depict Adult Supervision
The Children’s Advertising Review Unit has recommended that KEE Action Sports modify broadcast advertising for the company’s paintball products, JT Splatmaster pistols, shotguns and accessories. -
6/27/2013 - CARU Recommends Toy Box Apps Modify Advertising for ‘Mall Girl’ App to Avoid Undue Sales Pressure
The Children’s Advertising Review Unit has recommended that Toy Box Apps, LLC, modify advertising for the company’s “Mall Girl” app to avoid undue sales pressure. The app warns child users that a virtual pet will be taken to the pound if child doesn’t purchase virtual food. In most cases, the apps’ virtual currency must be purchased with real money. -
6/18/2013 - CARU Refers Advertising for ‘Iron Man 3’ MPAA for Review
The Children’s Advertising Review Unit referred advertising for “Iron Man 3” – rated PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association of America – to the MPAA for review. -
5/23/2013 - CARU Recommends Nickelodeon Modify Broadcast Advertising to Better Disclose Odds of Winning ‘SpongeBob’ Sweepstakes
The Children’s Advertising Review Unit has recommended that Nickelodeon modify broadcast advertising for a “SpongeBob” Splashpants Sweepstakes to better disclose the odds of winning. -
5/22/2013 - CARU Recommends Dynacraft Modify Broadcast Advertising to Better Depict Adult Supervision
The Children’s Advertising Review Unit has recommended that Dynacraft BSC, Inc., modify broadcast advertising for its three-wheel skateboard, the “Urban Shredder by Hot Wheels,” to better depict adult supervision.
