The Children’s Advertising Review Unit has recommended that Ontel Products modify advertising for “Dream Lites” pillows, a product advertised as nightlights that promote restful sleep. -
11/29/2012 - CARU Examines SunCore Advertising for ‘WhoNu?Cookie’
The Children’s Advertising Review Unit said it is pleased that Suncore Products, LLC, maker of “WhoNu? Nutrient Rich Cookies,” will modify media-buying practices to assure that future advertising for the product will not run during programming with a significant child viewership. -
11/14/2012 - CARU Recommends Idea Village Add New Disclosure to ‘Bright Light Pillow’ Advertising; Company Agrees to Do So
The Children’s Advertising Review Unit has recommended that Idea Village Products Corp., which markets the Bright Light Pillow more clearly disclose to children that batteries are not included in the purchase of the product. -
9/12/2012 - CARU Recommends IHOP Modify ‘IHOP.com’ Website to Better Disclose Advertising Within Game
The Children’s Advertising Review Unit has recommended that IHOP better disclose on the website www.ihop.com that advertising is present within a game that features “The Lorax,” a character from the Dr. Suess book and a movie of the same name. -
9/10/2012 - CARU Refers Advertising for Two PG-13 Films to MPAA for Review
The Children’s Advertising Review Unit referred advertising for “Battleship” and “Men in Black 3” – both rated PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association of America – to the MPAA for review. -
9/06/2012 - CARU Recommends USA BMX/BMX Canada Modify Website to Better Protect Children’s Privacy Company Agrees to Do So
The Children’s Advertising Review Unit has recommended that the USA BMX/BMX Canada modify its website – www.usabmx.com – to better protect children’s privacy. The company has agreed to do so. -
8/27/2012 - CARU Recommends Kellogg Modify ‘Froot Loops’ Website to Better Disclose Advertising Within Games, Activities
The Children’s Advertising Review Unit has recommended the Kellogg Company better disclose on its Froot Loops cereal website that advertising is present within the site’s games and activities. -
8/14/2012 - CARU Recommends Kraft Modify ‘Lunchables’ Advertising to Better Depict Balanced Meal; Company Agrees to Do So
The Children’s Advertising Review Unit has recommended that Kraft Foods, Inc., modify broadcast advertising for Oscar Mayer Lunchables Peanut Butter and Jelly, to better depict the product in the context of a balanced meal. -
7/25/2012 - CARU Recommends LEGO Modify Certain Broadcast Advertising to Better Disclose What Products Come with Initial Purchase
The Children’s Advertising Review Unit has recommended that LEGO modify broadcast advertising for the LEGO City, Heavy Lift Helicopter and LEGO City, Forest Police Station to assure child viewers better understand what toys are included in each purchase.
