The Children’s Advertising Review Unit has recommended that JAKKS Pacific Inc., modify broadcast advertising for the company’s “Disney Fairies Sky High Tink” to more accurately demonstrate the toy’s capabilities. -
8/28/2014 - Viacom International to Review Privacy Policy for Spanish-Language ‘Mundonick’ Following CARU Inquiry
Viacom International Media Networks, operator of the Spanish-language website Mundonick, said it would review the sites privacy policy, following an inquiry from the Children’s Advertising Review Unit. -
8/07/2014 - CARU Recommends Hampton Direct Modify Broadcast Ad for ‘Lumi Dough,’ Company Agrees to Do So
The Children’s Advertising Review Unit has recommended that Hampton Direct modify broadcast advertising for the company’s “Lumi Dough” product to better disclose to children the products included in an initial purchase. The company has agreed to do so. -
8/07/2014 - CARU Recommends Allstar Marketing Modify ‘Party in the Tub’ Commercial
The Children’s Advertising Review Unit has recommended that Allstar Marketing Group modify broadcast advertising to clearly disclose that batteries are not included with purchase of the company’s “Party in the Tub.” -
8/06/2014 - CARU Recommends CDE Modify Website to Better Protect Children’s Privacy; Company Agrees to Do So
The Children’s Advertising Review Unit has recommended that Cartoondollemporium.com modify its website to better protect children’s privacy. The company has agreed to do so. -
7/30/2014 - CARU Recommends CEC Modify Advertising for Chuck E. Cheese Sweepstakes
The Children’s Advertising Review Unit has recommended that that CEC modify sweepstakes advertising for “Chuck E. Cheese’s Rip It, Sip It, Win It Sweepstakes,” which appeared during children’s programming. -
7/17/2014 - CARU Recommends Telebrands Add Audio Disclosure to ‘Wow Cup’ Advertising
The Children’s Advertising Review Unit has recommended that that Telebrands, Inc. modify advertising for the company’s “Wow Cup” to better disclose the full cost of the product. The company has agreed to do so. -
7/17/2014 - Living Essentials Says Ad for Energy Drink was Inadvertently Placed in Children’s Programming on Hulu.com
Living Essentials, LLC, the maker of the beverage “5-Hour Energy,” has stated in writing that the placement of advertising for the product – during children’s programming on Hulu.com – was inadvertent. -
7/16/2014 - CARU Refers Advertising for PG-13 Film to MPAA for Further Review
The Children’s Advertising Review Unit has referred advertising for the film “Edge of Tomorrow” to the Motion Picture Association of America for further review.
